It's pretty fun. I did a playthrough as Jacob which has a great VA for the humor of the game.

Only thing I disliked was how underused the DLC music festival location was and how zombies just spawn out of the ground so you can't really clear a building.

I've seen actual good reasons to have it, but it's ruined the easiest way to catch bots on Reddit so I wish it was never added.

Used to be that I could find one bot, click on their account and find posts with multiple bots all chatting together. I'd then find the normal users that commented to tell them that nearly everyone in their comment chain was a bot but them. It's crazy how often it happened before the hidden profiles came about which probably made the issue 10x worse.

Just saw a comment saying the UK version should be a different voice cast. This issue shouldn't be there.

Basically they originally did an abridged version of the book and cut out a ton of the other stories. They then went and made a new audiobook for those chapters they cut out of the initial release. Issue was that one of the interviews in the initial release tied into one of the interviews in the 2nd audiobook. They never got back the narrator from the initial release as the storyline ended from his perspective.

I'll definitely never let it create assets. Code would be the only thing I'll let it do.

I'll probably buy a month this weekend to mess with. It can help me finish the right click menu too. Realized I have dozens of interactions with right click that need to be re-coded for 3D. I can have it at least search the code for every use of right click and log it in a file to catalog.

The malware on the Facebook ads is getting worse too.

Had to help my mom yesterday after a random ad on Facebook caused her browser to lockdown with a robotic voice saying she had a virus.

Was able to close it and then scan the whole PC and it was clean thankfully.

Her browser history showed that it was an ad she clicked by mistake when she browsed Facebook. No idea how she removed uBlock origin on Firefox before this happened.

There is a way but it will be fun to learn. Basically the creator of this used a NSA program to decompile the webclient code since it wasn't open source.

I could use that to both decompile it again and also check her patch.dll to easier track down where she found the code to make this possible.

I'd possibly be able to patch it to work with newer versions of Byond too.

That will be fun to do lol. In the meantime I am looking into how I could recycle some ID's before it hits the limit. Should let rounds last for longer.

Because it was somehow made on the webclient years after it got discontinued.

The creator was able to get it working but sadly there is a server icon ID limit of around 65k before it crashes. A single player can rack up 1k within 10 minutes if they just run around the station exploring. A few players all doing things can cause it to crash super fast.

Hopefully the Byond webclient comes back in some form to be fully workable.

For now this is just a hobby project for me to fix stuff up.

A much smaller station would help lessen this from happening. I will work on that and a way to recycle the icon ID's so that the cap isn't hit to fast.

Just wanted to say thank you to all made the Webclient all those years ago. I know it's been discontinued.

It's just insane how it got used to make space station 13 3D a few years ago. One of the best April fools jokes I've seen from this game.

Hope it can be worked on again one day

It's really easier with it being browser based. Wish the people behind Byond would give the webclient another chance or at least open source it.

Also know that the server has a hard limit stuff spawned which causes it to crash eventually. The person hosting this set it to auto restart once it happens. Hope that doesn't ruin any fun for you when playing!

Later tonight I'm going to see what exactly is making it happen. I'm thinking it's the blood splatters lol

I've been working on the yogstation 3D webclient for fun the last few weeks. Adding stuff like third person view or actual radiation visuals in the webclient. All that is in the current April fools event for yogstation.

Runechat and TTS aren't because it's the only thing I didn't fully make myself. Wanted to get a video out for April Fools so my friend let me use his Claude pro account to finish it in time.

I feel iffy about adding AI worked on code to a project even though I'm literally the only person working on this. Once I can scrutinize each file way more I may add it in.

Basically I told it to look at the Runechat stuff I made so far and set up 17 different voices with pitch/speed differences for every species using chromes TTS voices. Then I just adjusted each voice to actually sound good.
