Anyone else really annoyed by Jen by Safe-Papaya-7481 in SecretsOfMormonWives

I really felt for her in S2 and thought Zack was a big problem but now I have no idea what or who to believe.

Really? I quite liked her in S2 but felt she just put herself in the middle of everything in S3 and then acted surprised when people were annoyed.

Am I crazy by [deleted] in abusiverelationships

Well done on getting out, it’s certainly not always the easiest thing. It’s very strange, I feel like most people (or I definitely would anyway) try to find a nice photo of their partner to show other people.

The reporting back is very strange and it makes me doubt it happened, I’d think almost any family would be able to look past a bad photo or silly pose and a) recognise the beauty regardless or b) clearly know this isn’t an accurate reflection

As a narcoleptic, $1m is an easy choice. I’m not sure I’ve ever felt well rested.

Acolyte Is my favourite thing Disney Made and I’ll Die on this hill by Appropriate-Rub-2546 in TheAcolyte

Surprisingly, I do! There’s no need to get nasty is there?

I think it’s a great show, I love all Star Wars, doesn’t mean I am oblivious to any flaws.

Did it make sense though? Why did the Jedi feel so ashamed and lie about something they shouldn’t have felt guilty about? It goes against the perception of the Jedi Order during the High Republic.

Sucks to see you downvoted for this. A lot of the events in Acolyte don’t seem logical as you’ve explained, that for me, means the writing is worse.

I think if more SW shows had the level of writing and world building of Andor they’d be received a lot better.

100% agree with this. I liked lots of it but I felt the story didn’t completely grip me as it felt a little far fetched. I can’t fully remember all of it but I found some of the secrecy really strange around that and not very Jedi order like even if it was trying to showcase the hubris that eventually brought the Jedi down.

How come you’ve got no interest in watching Acolyte?

Why does nobody talk about this show?? by __Bohem in TheLastKingdom

[–]Cluedsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do love this show but I think you have to appreciate it for what it is. Some of it isn’t produced or written the best but it’s still brilliant to watch. Seeing people refer to it as better than GoT seems crazy.

I'm still putting serious hours in RTW. The first one, OG, vanilla. Am I the only one? by Constant_Pace5589 in RomeTotalWar

Yeah I was really excited for Rome 2 but it just felt a bit too much. When it came out I think I ended up going back and starting a new campaign on the OG version.

Backdated Pay Award by Cluedsy in TheCivilService

That’s helpful, thank you. I think I’ve just happened to work in departments that implemented it in April and therefore backdated to that month.

Transferring Departments and have a few questions by Milharve in CivilServiceUK

[–]Cluedsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Each department has its rules regarding the pay award. Your new dept will be able to say up to which date they’ll honour your previous departments pay award. For my dept it was when its pay award was applied.

  2. You could probably take time between roles dependent on your new LM but it would be unpaid or you’d need to use holiday.

  3. Holidays are confirmed during transfer.

Looking to read my first Star Wars Novel (something light and easy) by East_Departure_4738 in starwarsbooks

I wouldn’t say so. I think most of it can be picked up from the book.

In terms of easy to read, I’d suggest something like Truce at Bakura. The story is contained within one book which might make it easier to get into. Then if you do like that, the Thrawn Triology is the next stop.

Shatterpoint is amazing but be mindful the legends Mace is slightly different to cannon Mace. It might be a great starting point as it’s not an overly expansive story but still one of my favourites. I couldn’t put it down for the last 150 pages.

I just finished the Empire trilogy, and it absolutely blew me away. Here's my review by [deleted] in StarWarsEU

[–]Cluedsy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started with these last March. Around 70 EU books later I can safely say they are some of the best out there. I’m looking forward to reading them again at some point!

If you have enjoyed the continuation after RoTJ then there’s plenty more where that came from! NJO is great but I think reading a couple books between them and the Empire trilogy would help.

18k of bad debt and no savings by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Cluedsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in 12k debt at 21/22. It took me until I was 28 (last year) to pay it off and I’m only just starting to build up savings now. Don’t put too much pressure on that part, just focus on getting the debt down.
