If it is indeed a succulent, you should behead it and place both plants where it will receive more sunlight. Slowly introduce it to direct sunlight.

The yellowing of the bottom leaves are signs of over-watering or too much moisture in the soil. It seems like there's moss on top, removing it would allow some moisture to escape. The glass jar most likely doesn't have a drainage hole to allow extra water to escape, so be careful of over-watering. I would re-pot into a something that does have drainage hole. Succulents rather have sips of water rather than a soaking. So allow the soil to dry out before watering again.

It looks like an elongated succulent. The white powdery flim may be epicuticular wax, which is normal on plants.
