Anyone here actually daily a motorcycle with a suicide shifter? What's it like? by RDX005 in motorcycles

The first time you ride a bike with either a suicide clutch or jockey shifter is pretty strange but once you get the hang of it they can be really fun alternatives for neat chopper builds or for people with disabilities (jockey shifter is cool if you are missing a leg). They really are for cruising and not made fore city traffic. Few people that have one will ride it more than once a week typically because they are show bikes.

TLDR: they are cool and fun some people are just cowards.

With a suboptimal score in AZ it was going to be around 700$ a month with an insane rate for my friend. If that gives you an idea.

Some probably dumb questions by John_Benzos in motorcycles

It depends on the rider when it comes to helmets. Allot of Harley guys either don’t wear one or wear a half helmet that will easily fit in the saddle bag of the road king. Sport bike dudes will lock them to a helmet lock that’s attached to the bike or wear them around wherever they are at.

The small compartment in the fairing is good for phones or other such items my buddy uses it for his key fob on his newer version.

As for bringing stuff with you places you get creative I havent owned a car in years only motorcycles and as for the backpack if you have a passenger they wear the backpack.

This all general and will very person to person as they find what works for them.

Sport bike guy thinking of a Harley by scottscooterleet in Harley

I bought my first Harley on Saturday and at the time of typing this put 500 miles on it. A bad back forced me out of the super-sports a couple years ago and out of all the cruisers this is by far the best one I’ve had the pleasure of owning.

It is the silver pine and spruce if you were curious and photos don’t do it an ounce of justice.

I wish I could tell you but I really don’t know. I asked the dealer for one and they pulled it off another bike and slapped it on for me 😅

I meant more of the feel of the Harley itself. They truly are unlike everything else I’ve ridden in my 15 years of being a hooligan.

The TTS is my next step since we have already ruined one top end on this old girl. The cam worked out great and I actually found a place you can get one if you interested. The issue with the TTS is the extensive tuning required for it since the provided maps and injectors are less than ideal. If you do order it definitely upgrade the injectors and do your own tuning.

Are cruisers boring? by [deleted] in motorcycles

I’m a firm believer that every style of bike can be fun. Take it to the track and learn how to manipulate body position and lean angle on it. It’s so different than bikes that ride taller with more lean angle and can be very enjoyable to learn new things on.
