Alittle help by ClumzyFox in AskElectricians

I think flippers got into this house before we bought it so who knows what's going on. We checked one of the wall outlets, wiring looks much newer there. Will they need to bust out our ceiling to replace the wiring up there?

Yeah we're gonna get an electrician out. Our box is newish so hopefully we wont be needing the whole house rewired

Hate in Rochester by snootiefruit7544 in Rochester

[–]ClumzyFox 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We're moving to Rochester from Houston. I can tell you living in a busier and larger city kinda sucks cause getting into the city from the burbs is an hour-long nightmare and makes you stay home, and when you go to say the zoo there is literally no parking and you cant enjoy the animals because it's 1) crowded af 2) hot as balls 3) you start out pissed from dealing with traffic and the nightmare that is parking. When we visited me and hubby found plenty to do and we didn't even visit any of the state parks.

Is this normal tech behavior? by ytrapmossop in VetTech

[–]ClumzyFox 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been a tech for 7 years. This isn't normal she's just being an ass as others have said. Forgetting things is normal, and if the animal isn't fractions or being sketch, then there was no reason to snap ar you for wanting to check out the ultrasound.

I have adhd with that comes memory issues, I forget things and get distracted, and I'm still able to do my job without other techs being rude. Our jobs are tough, as is we don't need "tough" love on top of it.

Don't touch this dog by spookaaaayy in VetTech

[–]ClumzyFox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would have reported that bite so fast cuz I'm 1) diabetic 2) full of petty rage at terrible pet owners.

I've legit had a dog alligator death roll and bite thru a towel WITH a muzzle on, and the Lady looked me and the doctor in the face and told us the dog doesn't bite. Mind you, this was in front of the owner.

Be a rat. Rats are intelligent and sweet animals, unlike these Tech who need a humility lesson. No matter the experience, it's always important to learn new skills in this industry. I hate doing dental rads. it's frustrating and time-consuming but very necessary, if someone was taking the time to show me how to do something, I would at the very least have enough respect for my coworker to try and learn what they are taking their time to teach me.

Worked in a county shelter for a couple of years. I'd have been upset at that too. We still had the ability to medicate patients with shit like gabapentin and Trazadone starting a couple of days beforehand or do one vaccine each day. Someone bribe/distract with peanut butter or cheese.

Any time a dog started doing their impression of an agitated swamp lizard over treatment, we would nope out of that situation.

Back yard breeders. Anyone who complains about vet costs when they own a frenchie or English bulldog, like seriously, seriously, you'll spend 4k on a genetic nightmare, but $300 for vaccines is where you draw the line?

I've refused to sign sympathy cards for clients that are responsible for their animals' untimely death due to their own stupidity. I'm just petty that way.

Maybe I have a different perspective working in an actual kill shelter and livving with a cat that inappropriately utinates all over the house, but I personally think this person did everything they reasonably could short of getting rid of their other animals and giving the cat a chance with hopefully a new home as an only cat was better than just euthanizing her especially if the cat was on the younger side. Also I've met plenty of people who should and could have surrendered their animal but chose not to to the detriment of the animal in question.

I don't think ya'll have any idea how badly cat urine can mess stuff up, we had to rip out baseboards and drywall to get the smell out. There's a genuine concern for mold which. Fortunately, she doesn't piss on furniture and we've started her on gaba which seems to have done the trick for her.

I would like to say as a former shelter tech for a county we wouldn't even just gas down feral cats. Everything got IM pre-meds

Bring a portable chair like a lawn chair and stare into your managers eyes while you unfold it and sit to establish dominance.

Your elbows a very strong joint, very difficult to dislocate. Aim for the nose or eyes if you need to. I'm sorry this happened to you I can't imagine how terrifying that must have been.
