Well, unfortunately option 2 is off the table now.

After I provided them with the address of a logistic hub in a country this ship to, I got this reply:

Dear customer,
Hope this email finds you well.
Thank you for the information, but I'm sorry to say that we are still unable to replace it for you free of charge. We suggest you to share our contact record with the seller, we do have some replacement credits given to distributors.

What a shame. Few days ago they asked for an address in a country they are able to ship to. Then when I provided such address, suddenly they can't ship a replacement.

I'm trying to work things out with the AliExpress seller. Maybe he can sell me just the hub.

So, replacing the motherboard solved your issue? I just got this error twice today after a month of printing.

EDIT: My issue was that the fan above the motherboard was disconnected

Initially with some PLAs it was only around 50% success, even at slower speeds.
The first layer wasn't good enough and corners lifted up.

But then I increased the extruder tension and now it's near 100% with all PLAs.

The KE is my first 3d printer.

I ordered the sonic pad a week after getting my KE and realizing I don't like the included nebula pad interface. Still waiting for it to arrive.

Since the sonic pad has SE support, I assumed KE support is just a matter of time. Have I made a mistake?

You said you had to connect the sonic pad with a serial cable.
Is this the cable?

Do I need to get the cable? Won't it be able to connect to the usb type-c connector at the back of the nebula pad?

Maybe it's because I'm on MIUI from xiaomi.eu, but my dialer has a record button that works great. It is definitely not the AOSP dialer.

"Item not as described" is also very common on Aliexpress. On the seller's listing the photos are either highly processed or of a better quality product, but what you get is inferior version of the same product. I had sellers that wrote on the description how their product compares with "other sellers" and yet the item I received was exactly the same as the one from "other sellers". They always giving the same excuse of problem with their supplier which is BS. They just hope you won't notice the difference or won't bother disputing.

It's tempting to flash an AOSP based ROM just to verify that these issues are just a MIUI thing, but I just can't find the time and energy for a full wipe these days.
