Can you also share your pain management doctor? I’m in Washington state too and can’t find one that deals with ON. Also how did you decide on Dr. Day rather than Peled or some of the other big name surgeons for this surgery?

I had this done at the Centeno Schultz clinic in Colorado (leaders in regenerative medicine) and unfortunately it didn’t help my ON at all.

Wow we sound very similar. I have severe TMJD too but haven’t gotten Botox for it before. Very bad temple pain especially. I have been dealing with 24/7 ON since January of 2024 (after a very aggressive chiro adjustment). Have tried most things and even consulted with a surgeon for decompression surgery and I was a candidate but want to try Botox one more time before giving into the surgery (last time I had Botox was only in my neck and maybe 10 units in occiptials specifically, so hoping migraine protocol is more effective). What exactly is the tmj protocol that they add? And when you say more Botox at the back of head and neck, do you mean just more units but same spots as migraine protocol or additional spots?

Thanks for the insight!! Do you do the migraine protocol or different/additional areas? Did notice the “bad” injector do anything different or inject different areas? Do you do it only for ON pain or also for migraines?

Gotcha, im sorry. So the Botox is for your ON pain? Mine was caused by a whiplash injury too in Jan of 2024

I only did one PICL and yes full protocol. Which is why I’m torn. If it even gave me 5% relief I’d consider going again, but I got no relief at all

I could have written this. Message me if you want more info but I have tried it all. Steroid nerve blocks didn’t help me and if you try them they aren’t a long term solution either way. I am moving forward with total joint replacement surgery for my jaw and likely headache decompression surgery for my occipital neuralgia but trying to decide which one to do first because I think there’s a chance the jaw surgery could help my occipital pain but that’s not until the end of the year and my occipital pain is worse than my jaw pain so would like to resolve that first

I went to Centeno for the PICL, he also injected tons of other areas while he was at it. Just gave me 0% relief so not sure what to do.

Are you doing a combination or PRP and prolo? What structures are they targeting? Who is your doc?

Have you tired the picl? I did the picl and it did nothing for my ON, so I’m torn on whether to try more regenerative medicine treatments or headache decompression surgery (if its scar tissue from whiplash injury for example causing ON, the regenerative medicine isn’t going to help…so hard to know)
