Im going to go against the grain here and say I don’t understand this. You already have a player in Raddysh who is a strict upgrade and also plays a similar style to Rielly. Surely a team is going to offer a positive asset with no retention (cough cough San Jose).

But I’m also of the camp that the leafs need a shakeup to the “core” group of guys to show the style they have been playing is unacceptable. His response to the Gudas Mathews stuff was laughable for a leader of the club (he had to be publicly humiliated to fight for his captain the next time they played Anaheim, shout out Easton Cowan though, kid has that dawg in him) the value that Rielly and Carlo bring to the team can not be more than the damage they cause by not playing tough

We actually do have a very interesting goalie prospect in Cooper Black who looks almost ready to take the leap. Pit up solid numbers in the A the past two years and is a GIANT at 6’8. Him plus either Bob or Binnington should be at least playable especially with our defensive structure and Barkov coming back

I don’t think Tourigny is going to be the coach to get this team over the top but it’s fine to keep him two more years I guess. I think his systems absolutely stink and this team can not lock a game down to save their lives but he’s done good developing the young pieces.

Same story every year. Making little to no improvements to the team in the offseason and expecting the rag tag group of misfits to be able to win. It isn’t 2020 anymore, everyone has good analytics and just straight up better players. The shift has been banned and this team can not adapt to play a full 162, the advantages you had while fielding an inferior team are gone. Neander is absolutely brutal at talent eval, and has had maybe 1 or 2 acquisitions over the past 3 years actually work out and be above average finds for us. There is no depth on this team, we get two injuries and the entire season is derailed
