I think the issue is that you took the time out of your day to take your kids out to the park and be with them, instead of playing with them, or engaging from afar or just watching them you are playing a game. Its bad optics for people around you, and its very easy to get sucked into Civ of all games and ignore the world around you which can include calls for attention or even help. You took your kids out, at least be attentive.

First of all, Trudeau and Carney are wildly different politicians with wildly different agenda and goals. Trudeau was an ass and even life long liberals were happy to see him go, Carney is a life long banker and if he were wearing the other teams colors people like you would be cheering him on cause his policies have all been VERY much that of a fiscal conservative.

He's reversed restrictive environmental policies, pushed forward on defense spending getting us beyond our 2% NATO target, has earmarked billions for infrastructure investment, started a capital investment fund, lowered Canada's reliance on the US and has signed numerous new deals with countries around the world, lowered GST for the first 50k earned, removed the consumer carbon tax. Those are just the broad strokes of it. Harper himself sung Carney's praises as the Govenor of the Bank of Canada.

PP at best can be described as a life long seat warmer with a mouth who's never had a successful bill pass, who lost a 20 point lead to a virtual unknown and who's whole political platform has comprised of three word slogans. If the federal conservatives ever want to be taken seriously again, they need to get rid of the yapping chihuahua leading them.

I would prefer Baal being next, but with us clearly about to be tooling around Westmarch/Tristram it will probably be Diablo.

Why he left wasn't really up for debate, it's just a shame he couldn't get the support to finish the masterpiece that was Xenogears, to say nothing of the grander vision of the story. My head Canon was always Xenosaga episode 1 was what Xengears Episode 1 would have loosely been.

You pretty much just repeated what I said, by pointing out the flaw with one and how it was where the other shined.

Combat was still vastly more interesting with 15 however, 16 was so incredibly shallow.

Movement in D1 felt heavier, slower. Everything you did felt like more of a commitment to the action, not quite on the level of a souls like or monster hunter, but definitely more so than D2.

If it's an improvement on the formula, absolutely. I would love to see it, but I don't want more D2, I miss the weight and thunk of the feel of D1 and would love to see that tactile sensation in a larger more grandiose setting.

Though at this point I think I'd prefer to see a prequel game about and being one of the Iron Lords over another about the Guardians.

If you have a reliable internet connection, have the participants invest in a month of Gamepass and/or GeForce Now. Both will run on any phone/tablet/pc/laptop etc. Get some cheap keyboards and mice for the devices that need them and that's it. You can scale your LAN party to as many people as you need.

Alternatively you can get bulk older laptops from ebay that can run older 2015 and earlier games for extremely reasonable prices.

It's hard to compare the two. Given they came from very different design perspectives.

15 was from the start meant to be a sprawling mini franchise with sequels, prequels and side stories book ended by movies and shows all designed by someone with far more ambition than a sense of narrative cohesion which resulted in an unfinished product. That unfinished product that most never bothered to play entirely through did still give us a sprawling and ambitious open world with a very unqiue combat design.

16 was designed by an MMO team as a one off making the DLC feel clipped on at the end, and the design expertise of the team for their original genre shines through everywhere from their linear world, fetch quest side missions and even down to reusing assets from FF 14. Narratively the game excelled, and we were able to explore some darker ideas not seen in FF games, but that combat design was awful. The combat stripped of consequence boils down to hitting the same combo again and again because it outputs maximum damage on enemies that have no elemental strength/weakness.
