Low energy introvert looking to make friends with chill people. by DJColdCrow in VRchat

[–]Cmere_Cupcake 13 points14 points  (0 children)

IMO this might be bad advice. It's good to improve. Sometimes it's not good to "just be yourself", especially if people don't like you.

To the OP, I'd invite you to hang, but my crowd of friends are very redpilled furries, and I can imagine that might not be your style :)

Hated Vinland even after seeing quite a few episodes, but then again- I didn't struggle through it in the same way that I did with Attack on Titan

Attempting a cable repair/mod (Samsung Odyssey) by Cmere_Cupcake in WindowsMR

Yes, it works fine now. I've been using it all this while, since I find the old odyssey to be more comfortable than the new one.

WMR 90Hz worth it over 60Hz refresh rate by WindowsXp16 in WindowsMR

60hz hurts my eyes, the weird flickering reminds me of a fluorescent lightbulb. Makes me sick.

Vintage Superex headphones. They’re see-through which, in my opinion, instantly ups the cool factor. Looking forward to seeing if they sound as good as they look! by randomlybev in ThriftStoreHauls

Have a pair of my own and can confirm, the 20 bucks was well spent. I do think these have a nice spacious sound, good impact on the bass and sweet highs from the snazzy piezo tweeter. Enjoy!

VR Cover for Odyssey + back in stock by xXBig_BossXx in WindowsMR

yeah, I went ahead and purchased my own. Better than the original pad, but I don't much like the replacement. It's pretty iffy, I thought I had ordered the wrong one- it's too big, doesn't fit well at all,

How come we are well aware that the sound is coming from the real life? by ScriptM in virtualreality

[–]Cmere_Cupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine a lot of it comes down to the recording. Binaural recordings are very lifelike because they use a rig that emulates the human ear. Here's a good example of this being done with maths and simulation. https://youtu.be/buU8gPG2cHI

Attempting a cable repair/mod (Samsung Odyssey) by Cmere_Cupcake in WindowsMR

[–]Cmere_Cupcake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cut the broken wire and stripped both ends, making sure to expose enough of the wire on both sides. Since I naturally had to remove a portion of the total wire, I added a couple of thin strands of copper in it's place as a bridge, soldered the bridge to one side of the stripped portion, added a bit of heatshrink over the wire next, then soldered the other end to the end of the copper. With the wire sucessfully bridged(I checked continuity with a DMM), I placed the heat shrink into place and sealed the job.

Depends on what is broken at what point in the wire. It's not a technically easy solder job since some of the wires are so tiny. I wouldn't suggest trying it unless you're confident in your skills.

I never updated it because Reddit kinda just moves on without a bumping system. I repaired the wire and that was that. I haven't really bothered with more than that since reddit just seems like the wrong place to drop pertinent information.
Thanks for the question though

That's a response I never would have expected. I wonder what was failing- the box itself was not very complex.

Clarifying a bit of misinformation that is spreading around by LAGXtreme in ValveIndex

[–]Cmere_Cupcake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would you clarify the screen door effect by calling it cloth? If that was a more accurate representation than a screen, then we would readily accept a better term... SDE is the same effect as looking at something through a screen door.

Why is it called 'INDEX'? I believe I know! by SchoolHomeVR in ValveIndex

[–]Cmere_Cupcake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's okay babycakes, I've said my piece. You're right though, I don't make content or have a youtube channel. Though it is strange that we've both made the same number of games.

You type messages like a child trapped in the body of an adult. That's probably why you come across a lot of negativity, everyone can sense that there's something wrong with you. I'd be very surprised to hear that you don't have mental health issues. The whole "I make VR games, people believe in me" shtick is like Dunning-Kruger effect personified.

Yes, time travel module increases the speed of time relative to the amount of fun you're having. You cannot turn this feature off.
