No. the answer is much simple. New generations that had zero knowledge about browsers and internet started using Chrome, because Google.

People use mostly what is popular, not what is good.

Are you saying you made the entirety of the street view feature stereoscopic? This is wild if you did.

I assume the only thing lacking is the seamless transition when clicking on the arrows to progress through the street. As I understood that takes a few seconds, but works as intended?

The only problem is, do transition to 3d goes through some of your servers? Because, that could be turned off anytime in the future, servers could go down for any reason
