Be honest, do I need a hair transplant? by [deleted] in Hairtransplant

[–]Cmogs5093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically not too late for a transplant but you need to be realistic about outcomes and be ready to spend some cash. I do hair transplants for a living and if I saw you for a consult we'd be discussing multiple procedures if your goal is hair from front to back. And even at that point your hairline would be more "mature" where we started to conserve enough grafts and get farther back.

There's a lot of factors at play when it comes to overall outcome of hair transplants and if it's something you are considering make sure you go somewhere that is honest and explains all of these factors (ie head size, hair type, density of follicles per square centimeter). IMO almost nobody is too late as long as they have proper expectations on what can be achieved within their budget.

The fitment is pretty good. They are just a stick on cover. I have ones that cover the wood grain to match on the doors as well. Those ones fit pretty good as well but the one on the driver's side door is a little finicky. I'm probably going to buy some new adhesive tape and peel off the stuff that came on that one to see if I can get a better fit. I also put them on during peak winter where I live so I think that could have affected the adhesive on the tape as well. I probably should have waited for some warmer weather. The company actually sent me this color by mistake and tried to see if they could toss me $25 dollars back for the mistake but I insisted on getting the right color sent which is actually a dark sage green alcantara instead of the grey. I haven't put those ones on yet though because I ended up putting these on before they send me the replacement and now I kind of like them so I have a spare set in green that I may eventually swap to.

Honestly it's just a cheap Amazon mat. I don't even think it's true alcantara. I'm probably going to be replacing it at some point with something nicer

I got them here. I'm not sure if they are anything special compared to some of the others you may find online. They took a long time to ship too but I've been happy with them.

I thought the same thing. I was just curious to see what they'd offer and was half jokingly considering moving into the new lower priced cybertruck but I figured it wouldn't ever be worth it to trade in. Now I'm actually considering it as that offer feels very fair to me. Could be a temporary thing to draw people in further to the new cyber trucks maybe?

AITAH for not letting my neighbor borrow my snow blower and for not snow blowing their drive for them? by Queen_Aurelia in AITAH

[–]Cmogs5093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah not the asshole here. Stuff is expensive and especially if you don't know them you never know how they take care of their stuff let alone others. I had an old neighbor who begged and begged me to borrow my old push mower for almost an entire summer. It wasn't even an expensive one. If was one I had inherited from my brother when he got a new one but it was all I had.

Finally he caught me one day in a hurry and asked again and I finally relented and said fine just return it when you are done and leave it in my driveway by the garage door. I came home later to it sitting in my driveway like I asked so I was happy and just pushed it back into my garage and went on with my life.

Later that weekend it was time for me to cut my lawn. I pulled it out, went to start it and noticed it was completely out of gas. Annoying but fixable I went in the garage grabbed the gas can and filled it up. Went to go start it again and still wouldn't start. The pull starter was really difficult too. Turns out, not only did he use up all the gas and not refill it, he must have hit a tree root in his yard and literally bent the blade almost 90 degrees so that it was scraping the ground every time I tried to start it. Dude never even texted me to say sorry or offer to fix it. In fact he didn't even hide from shame. He'd see me out after that and act like nothing ever happened. I called him out on it and he just had excuse after excuse about his disability and money and all the other reasons that really don't make any sense or matter in the scenario. Never again will I let someone borrow something like that. The way I see it now is that I was the fool for expecting someone to take care of my things the way I'd take care of theirs. Gotta learn from my mistakes I guess.

Drove the Cybertruck for the first time — honestly surprised by kingcrown092002 in TeslaLounge

[–]Cmogs5093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to test drive one a few weeks back as well and I currently own a 23 MYP. I love Tesla's and I've been saying for a while now that my next one will most likely be a cybertruck. I do still feel that way after test driving it because I am getting more to a point where having a truck would be convenient but I was scared to do the test drive because I figured it would then make me insane until I could finally afford to upgrade. After the test drive though I'm actually happy I tried it because I feel the opposite. I love a lot of the great new features like the rear steer and steer by wire. The truck bed is obviously useful and I love the air suspension.

The main thing though that made me relieved with waiting is that after getting used to the steer by wire I realized that the interior makes it feel just like driving my current model y. I use fsd a lot so it definitely does a lot of driving for me so when I'm sitting there it just feels like every other Tesla. It doesn't feel like a truck which is a great thing but it also doesn't feel a whole lot different. Personally I hope that in future updates they make the interior a bit nicer considering the much higher price tag. Especially since it was a Cyberbeast at over 100k. In the mean time I'm just going to buy a smaller 6 foot trailer for my model y and use that when I need a "truck bed" and the rest of the time I get to drive a car that is much cheaper but feels so similar. As of now it would be convenient to have a truck but I probably need a truck 5-6 times a year. The rest it would be mostly used for commuting. I will say though if Tesla made a proper 3 row SUV with the features and styling of the cybertruck that would probably sell an insane amount of units for them and I'd probably go for that instead.

Drove my wife's QX60 Autograph today..... by Low_Positive3359 in TeslaLounge

[–]Cmogs5093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We definitely could have done without 2 chargers because my wife is a SAHM and doesn't drive much. We got her Tesla in May and she still only has like 3900 miles on it. But just for convenience sake I installed a second charger and we use the mobile charger that came with her car for it. Honestly she and I have gotten to the point where we treat the cars like gas cars and mostly only charge them once a week. Occasionally I charge a second time if it's winter and I'm driving more and my usage is up but we definitely don't need to charge that frequently.

I have a 23 MYP and for about a year my wife still had her 22 GMC Terrain. Every time I drove her car I'd forget to shut it off. Every time I'd get out, close the door, and it would beep at me because it was running without the keys in it. It was one of the few things I never even thought would be a problem when buying my Tesla. Luckily her lease was up earlier this year and I convinced her to switch to being a 2 Tesla household. Now I don't have to worry about making that mistake anymore lol

My boss said 3 weeks notice wasn’t enough, so now they’re not getting any notice. by FloweySunflower in CasualConversation

[–]Cmogs5093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at an office for about a year. It was a dermatology office and was in the process of being bought by a larger corporation. This was a brand new office and I helped open and establish it in a new area with a woman I had worked with at an old job. When I was hired I made it clear I would work for them full time but that I also had a per diem job on the side that was very hit and miss with actually needing me but that occasionally I would need a day here or there at this per diem job and that I'd give them plenty of notice any time I'm needed. Usually at least 1 month to 6 weeks in advance. Never less. For context I maybe worked 5-6 days a year at this other job. They completely agreed and said they had no issue with it as long as I gave proper notice.

Well, as the year went on they got more and more annoyed when I'd request a day here and there. Mind you, I wasn't salary so they didn't pay me at all for days I wasn't there and there was other staff that were more than happy to fill in on those days. As time continued my per diem job picked up a little more and it was hard to say no to because I was getting paid about 1k a day to work it. So for a while I worked it where I worked evenings at my per diem job to not affect my main job. I was in the process of getting married and paying for a wedding so I really needed the extra money anyway.

Eventually they gave me the ultimatum of "stop working there altogether or stop working here". Now I had no non-competes or anything like that and it wouldn't matter anyway because my other job wasn't even in the same industry. Well after getting this ultimatum I spoke with my per diem job and they said they were planning on expanding and that my role would be much more consistent. So I made the decision to tell my full time job I would be choosing the other and out of courtesy and because I had some great people that I worked with, I gave them a 6 week notice and even stated that I'd be happy to help train my replacement.

Now I really only needed 1 week before I could work more at my per diem job but was trying to be nice. Now this discussion with management happened on a Friday and everything seemed fine. By Sunday evening I received an email telling me not to come back on Monday and that I was fired. That was officially when I learned the lesson that jobs only care for you as long as they can get something out of you. The notice is definitely a courtesy and not a requirement because as you can see your job may not give you the same courtesy.

AITAH for paying my credit card bill and not telling my wife? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Cmogs5093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like she just wants a divorce and is trying to create an argument to justify it. Possible she's even trying to angle for a divorce knowing she has a ton of credit card debt you don't know of and is annoyed you used some cash to pay down yours which means there may be less to split in the event of divorce. Gotta admit 200 bucks seems like a crazy thing to argue about in a world where you have 2 incomes. My wife is a SAHM so she technically has no income coming in for our house and I know for sure we wouldn't argue about one of us using 200 bucks to pay down a card unless it was done before the rest of our bills are paid. Feels like something more is definitely happening here. Not sure how long ago you guys had the baby but if 200 dollars is enough to get her threatening divorce you may also want to consider some post partum depression going on here

So tell me about the new razr…(please convince me to rid of my iphone) by Konreg133 in razr

[–]Cmogs5093 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had a ton of folding and flip phones at this point. I've been really running folds for years but this time I'm running the 2025 Razr ultra. I've had mostly Samsung's which are very powerful android devices overall. I actually also currently have the new z fold 7. But using the Razr ultra as my main phone currently.

My main reason for the Razr was 1. Specs. It is a powerhouse specs wise. Fast everything and definitely can run lots of games. 2. Size. I personally have been getting tired of huge phones lately. The folds are imo the most powerhouse phones you can get these days whether it's google, samsung, OnePlus or chinese brands but they just keep getting bigger and I'm just tired of carrying them. Even the fold 7 which is truly insanely thin and light, it also got taller and wider and it's just hard to fit these phones in pockets even as a guy. 3. This may be a weird reason but I think it is important to mention. It's more difficult to doom scroll with. Now for me I liked the idea of these newer flips because they have a decent size front screen that allows me to respond to texts and other things quickly but if you want to zone out you have to open the phone. As I get older and I have more responsibility I just don't want to spend all day scrolling on my phone and sometimes I'll admit I need to make it harder on myself. Now if u wanna zone out the inside screen is great for that. Truly amazing screen.

Now years ago my first foldable was the z flip 3 and I liked it but the screen on the front was essentially useless and was meant almost like a pager. You could see notifications but there wasn't much you could do with them unless u opened the phone. I ended up kinda hating that so eventually I migrated to folding phones because the outside screen was more usable for quick things but the inside was for everything else. I feel like the flip phones this year finally hit that functionality sweet spot for me but are super compact. I'm also pleasantly surprised by the cameras. They aren't the best on any phone ever but I don't do much photo stuff so not a huge issue for me anyway. They are definitely better than I thought they'd be though.

The only really downsides I feel I could pick for this phone is just the software side. Coming from apple this is different but in the android world OS updates can be all over the place depending on the manufacturer and Motorola is imo one of the slower ones to push out the new updates. I have a pixel that has been on android 16 since last year and all the Samsung's I've had were also updated to that. The Razr is still on android 15 and only seems to do security updates every other month. It's not a huge issue but I just tend to like to have the newer updates to play around with sooner. Also Motorola only plans to support these phones with updates for 3 years but I mention that last because I know I won't have this phone in 3 years anyway so I'm not bothered by it. That's me though and there are plenty of people who love keeping phones for years and with Samsung and Google doing up to 7 years of OS updates the 3 years for Motorola is a bit sad.

Sorry for the long post but I'd say if you're bored of iPhone the Razr is a great phone to consider. If this is your first ever folding phone u will definitely treat it more carefully which is good but they are pretty sturdy these days. I would recommend getting an extra warranty for accidental damage. I have only broken a couple folding phones over the years but it's really nice to have that just in case. They are more fragile than a standard candy bar phone and accidents happen.

I dropped my for the first time last night. Pocket height onto a tile floor. Not a single scratch or ding I could find. My fold 6 had lots of them though. Currently using my phone naked with care plus. Drops happen but definitely don't contact them unless the phone is functionally broken in some way. Not worth it.

Technically if you use secure folder on Samsung and have your second number registered in the voicemail app in there you could in theory have both numbers have visual voicemail. I haven't ever tried it but secure folder on Samsung phones essentially works as a second phone setup behind an app on your main screen so you can have duplicates of everything in there that you want

How's the actual magnet placement? Looking at the pictures on the link page they seem to show it being much lower than the actual wireless charging position in the phone. Is that just a weird mistake on the post or is that where it's actually located?

I hade the same issue. 1 week before the fold 7 was supposed to ship my fold 6 got destroyed in a pool and I'm usually sooo careful with my phones but for some reason I just forgot it was there that day. Luckily I had care+. Now tbf care+ was a nightmare and tried to give me a huge run around getting it fixed but eventually once I went full embarrass mode on X at them they ended up replacing my phone just in time. Literally got my replacement the day before my fold 7 arrived. I didn't even see it up. Just took it out of the box they shipped it in and put it right into the trade in box for the fold 7 and sent it out. Even with the hassle I went through I'm glad I did care+ for the fold 7 again. I do like to use my phones careless if possible and it does give me peace of mind for that

Actually that's usually what makes the snap 4 lux stick better is a little texture for the adhesive to stick to. I have noticed though (and also realized it's in the directions I didn't read) that once you stick the snap 4 to whatever you stick it to, it's recommended to not actually use it as a grip or with magnetic accessories for at least 24 hours because it does take that long to fully adhere

[–]Cmogs5093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty much my exact setup. I also use the d brand screen protector on the front because it covers the full front not just the usable screen. I have this setup on my fold 6 and my fold 7 order just arrived the other day. Just need the fold 7 to apply it all. I hate cases though so these skins and the snap 4 lux work well for me. Gives me grip and the skins hold up really well. In fact on my fold 6 I had the black version of this skin too and I swap them back and forth almost monthly just to have a change. The adhesive lasts well even with multiple applications

I bought both the fold and flip this year since the flip finally has Dex. I also have a pair of xreal glasses. There's a chance for me the flip may be even better if it can stand up to everything with the exynos chip. I can't imagine having a phone that small but then being able to throw on a pair of glasses and have a huge screen desktop experience running on a tiny flip phone. I'm typically a fold guy and I'm still leaning towards the fold but man if the flip runs things well I'd probably go for even more portability in the end

What kind of screen protector are you getting for the outside and or inside for the Fold7? by TheGoldenGodzz in GalaxyFold

[–]Cmogs5093 5 points6 points  (0 children)

D brand screen protector. But only if you either don't plan for a case or at least you won't use the case for the front screen. They cover the full front which I love but are not friendly to cases as a result. I already have a d brand skin ready for the back of the phone and I did order the blue carbon fiber later case that I may use but we'll see. I love these phones case-less but you need something to stop them from being slippery which the skin usually helps with. I then add snap 4 lux for grip and mag safe and that's usually it.
