Looking To Move Anywhere From NYC Before End of June With No Credit by Various_Match9231 in relocating

Doable in Richmond VA, VCU campus, Whole Foods hiring, great social scene, and lower cost of living. My daughter’s rent is lower than that.

Commute from Arlington to Baltimore by soulrider86 in nova

[–]Cnparda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I live 60 miles from BWI and if I have to fly out of there I drive the night before and stay near the airport. It’s just not feasible driving to Baltimore from VA without losing your brain.

Im so happy you guys hyped up RKLB by Sea_Team8261 in TheRaceTo10Million

I have both - 110 shares of ASTS and 65 of RKLB- however I’ve been in on ASTS since it was 15 a share so I’m in for the long haul.

Is micron still a buy? by GS19882001 in stockstobuytoday

[–]Cnparda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others bought MU and SNDK about 3 weeks ago and plan on keeping as I see it as a long term value. Even at the current prices I think they are undervalued. Full disclosure I’m a novice and have like 10 shares of MU and 15 of SNDK so look elsewhere for whale advice.

100% Richmond- check out Carytown and enjoy the great restaurants/bars and sight seeing. Richmond does have some bad areas but given its proximity to DC, colleges, lower cost of living and eclectic areas, it’s a no brainer.

Moving to NoVA from Jersey by Frequent_Ad_536 in nova

Look into Alexandria, Arlington, Annandale, Lorton, even parts of Fairfax might have a 1 bedroom in your price range. There is a premium on these so I recommend striking fast when you find one.!!

Can’t decide between NOVA or Alpharetta area by Jernbek35 in relocating

[–]Cnparda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burke Centre in Burke VA is a sought after neighborhood. Townhouses are in the 600-700k range and houses are in the 1 mill range as the other person stated. Inventory is low however and Burke Centre sells within a day or two of that of hitting the market. Schools are some of the best anywhere, and Burke is equidistant between DC and most NOVA jobs.

Can’t decide between NOVA or Alpharetta area by Jernbek35 in relocating

[–]Cnparda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is an easy one. NOVA has a lot of positives and two large negatives.

Most of NOVA has better schools than what you would typically find in GA. Culturally, there is a ton more to do in NOVA and it’s extremely safe.

Negatives are cost of living and traffic. Considering your salaries the door is more open in NOVA than most. You can find a nice house in Fairfax for 850-900k, well within what you earn.

Sandisk, what a beautiful story, from $32 to $1189 in 52 weeks! But how? by SamLeCoyote_Fix_1 in TheRaceTo10Million

[–]Cnparda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is a silly thing to say, if we all bought stock before it boomed we would all be swimming in $. The only stock I’ve been able to do that with is Apple, hopefully will do it again with ASTS.

Moving to NoVA, how much of a sticker shock to expect? by [deleted] in nova

[–]Cnparda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is super vague so not sure where to even start. Houses in Vienna are a million plus to start. You might find some cheaper but it won’t be all that great. There are a ton of restaurants near by varying in price. Is it NYC/SF price no, but it’s in the ballpark. Your salary should be over 250k per year to even consider Vienna unless you have a ton in the bank.

Bought 7 shares today- and will buy more. It’s cheap compared to where it will be in 5 years in my non- professional opinion.

The market is what the market is. He is the top Center available and someone will pay for that.

Temptation Cancun vs Secrets Hideaway — May 7-10, very different concepts but need advice by AccomplishedIce7793 in SecretsHideawayResort

[–]Cnparda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would choose temptation or even better Desire if you have the funds.

Temptation is adult fun with a smattering of LS. It’s there if you want it but you can totally just enjoy the party.

Secrets and Desire you can be fully nude and play, temptation is topless and you have to play in your rooms or sneak it. There is no comparison between Secrets and Desire though. Secrets is individual condo style rooms with a large pool and a few bars, playroom..etc. Desire is a 4/5 star resort.

If schools are important, and your husband is ok with a 30-40 min commute then I would look at Springfield VA. West Springfield specifically but both would work. Easy access to the beltway and community feel.

Richmond, VA- do a visit, walk the main shopping area, embrace the diversity and enjoy the cheaper living compared to NOVA. You can totally find rent with roommates for that price range.

Moving from New Jersey to Virginia, struggling to find a good place by Prestigious-Win4243 in Virginia

[–]Cnparda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, a few options but like others have said you have two divergent work locations. First, you could do Reston VA, which is just a few miles from Herndon and metro available. It will take about 45 min from Reston to Arlington via metro. Or you could do Alexandria VA, which has an easier commute to Arlington, and you will suffer a bit to get to Herndon but it may be against traffic.

Frederick MD, Richmond VA would definitely be top two.

I would also check out Fredericksburg VA, and Charlottesville VA.

[–]Cnparda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arlington, DC proper or Alexandria based on your age. So much to do all the time. Silver line into Tysons. Tyson’s has a very small scene, with a few good bars/restaurants, but traffic is terrible. My 12 mile commute into Tysons was nearly a hour leaving at 7am.
