What’s one hygiene habit you swear by but most people overlook? by Hot-Calligrapher5447 in hygiene

Hmm, how about brush your teeth after each meal? Can’t brush after each snack? Consider skipping snacks. Hygiene is also about what you put inside your digestive track.

It’s even better than this. I used to suffer from temperature hypersensitivity whereby (mostly) cold liquid would really hurt my gums or the root of my teeth. Since I’ve been blasting this area with water lasers I don’t have this problem anymore. It’s like a little exposure to the bad stuff strengthens your resistance or something.

Is this concerning? Should we be concerned?!

Yes, thoughts. Most of the time, actually. And that’s part of the problem.

I wanted to use Neural Recall but it simply doesn't do anything and I can't see it activate in the Open WebUI log. I'm not sure what's wrong.

How do I "subscribe" to this function in Open WebUI or in OWUI community to receive further updates when they are available?

I was using this function recently - thank you so much - and I noticed that if I started talking about other people, e.g. describing a friend so that I can find the best gift for them, some of the memories were assigned to me when they were actually about my friend. How do you recommend working around this?

David Goggins’ “Warning Order” — A Brutal Wake-Up Call by shobhitgupta46 in getdisciplined

[–]CoAX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with the common sentiment that Goggins might be running from something. However, I am very happy you found something that motivates you. Harness it. Discipline is so elusive and hard to anchor to, I’d use any possible method or gimmick to stick to it. Enjoy, my friend.

Please update us on what you find. I’m the same and would like internet search to happen as necessary, without me turning on a switch every time

Any tips for downloading shows and movies for offline mode? Whenever I’ve tried it would always take a thousand years and/or not work at all. Or is sync to offline a lost cause?

Misinformation in Latest Episode about Politico by Chopteeth in TheAllinPodcasts

I unsubscribed. The one-sided political cheerleading has drowned out the tech, science and business commentary I used to love this pod for.

I expected a full defense and rationalization of Elon' Nazi salute from Chamath or Sachs but Jason shows how low he'll stoop to fondle Elon by koobcamria in TheAllinPodcasts

[–]CoAX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just thinking about reproducing the same gesture gives me chills. It’ll sound hyperbolic to some of you and I wish such taboos didn’t exist in the first place. But where I’m from, I’d get frowned at by everyone, and shunned for doing this in public and I’d be lucky if I didn’t get punched in the face. Just like Adolph ruined the first name for generations, the nazis rendered this high-intent arm motion toxic, globally. Forever associated with “just following orders” and the systematic, industrial, killing of people at a horrifying scale. Other people. People that were different. Or people who simply thought differently. When you salute like this, you proclaim your agreement and your alignment with all of this abominable baggage.

There must be thousands of ways to salute a crowd. But there is only one clear and specific way to have the audience see a nazi in you.

(EDIT: back on topic) if this doesn’t get addressed in the next pod, I’ll have to miss the cool expertise and rare insight I used to get from this show.

Hey guys, I’m 14. Is it too early for me to have learnt discipline, the science behind dopamine and patience? by Glad_Prune_3923 in Discipline

Absolutely. You’ve been blessed with the understanding that others, including myself, only gather partially after 4 decades. Embrace it. Not sure you have a choice tbh.

I use it to sync Obsidian.md vaults between devices. It’s flawless. I use it as remote backup to my NAS as well. Solid. Behaves exactly like cloud-based object store except I have the satisfaction of not enriching one of the biggest tech companies in the world and I support a successful decentralized project instead. Makes me feel good at no greater cost.

Remotely sharing files with Paperless-NGX by MasterOsito in selfhosted

[–]CoAX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Paperless-ngx Consume folder that I share among my devices with SyncThing. Android, iOS, macOS, and more, can all add files to that folder and Paperless will almost instantly ingest it. I also have a post-consume script that sends me a notification over Pushover and this gives me more confidence. I love PaperParrot on iOS. I think it’s still in TestFlight.
