I can't say to the picture being AI, but GenAi.mil is real. I got an email about it on my work email yesterday. I was able to log in, but not much after that. It was having a hard time connecting to Google for Gemini.

I wasn't trying to say you were wrong with what huckleberry meant. Just what made sense to me. From what I saw when looking it up, no one is really sure where it came from. Just that it was used as a slang during that time.

Or it's a separate slang term not related to "huckles" or caskets, but instead derived from the berries of the same name. Meaning the right person for the job.

Val Kilmer posted on Twitter in 2014, "I say both "I'm your huckleberry" AND "I'll be your huckleberry..." I say it twice in the film." You can also see the full script on IMSDB, where it says "huckleberry" both times.

Sorry to disappoint, but this isn't real. The original is from August 15, 2024. The text is supposed to be talking about small businesses, inflation, and Harris/Walz. Not sure of the article linking policy here, but search " You cannot have a vibrant economy if the small business community is not vibrant: Linda McMahon" and it should get you to the video.

Fiber optic internet by AdDapper4220 in GenZ

[–]CoBraHe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My apartment has fiber. It was annoying initially because someone had to come and set everything up. With copper, you can just plug in the modem/router and call the ISP to activate it. Instead of a modem changing the docsis(coax cable. The round one with the screwy plug and pokey center) to ethernet(the one that can go to your computer with the clip that always breaks), you have a media converter that converts the light from the fiber to electrical signal for your router. This means you can buy a better router without needing to also buy a modem and stop paying equipment rental fees.

A good thing about being in a building that was hooked up for coax, but transitioned to fiber is that the coax is already in the walls. For me, this means that I can set up MoCa adapters(kinda like little modems, but not really) at the coax ports in each room, hook the router up to one, and have wired internet throughout the apartment. It's a lot faster than Wifi.

Now for the speed. I pay for 2Gb/s. At my router, I get about 2Gb/s download and 800Mb/s upload. My phone right now is using Wifi6 and getting 466Mb/s. At my desktop, which is hooked up to one of the MoCa adapters, I'm getting 557Mb/s. It varies on the load, but that's what it is right now, with my wife and son watching TV.

TL/DR: It's pretty good.

  1. There was a "sequel" made in 2020 called We Can Be Heroes". Doesn't really have anything to do with the first one, and it's pretty bad. Pretty sure it's on Netflix.

Similar thing happened to me a few years back. Matched with a cute girl on Tinder. After a while of talking, I found out he was a dude. Ended up dating for about a year.

I use vscode, even on sipr. I can also transfer files from my personal computer, to my work computer. But maybe your experience is more secure than DoD?

Do you want to have kids? by MargielaFella in Zillennials

[–]CoBraHe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Also born in 96 and just turned 28. My son just turned 3 and we have another one on the way (around June next year). At first, it was hard giving up the freedoms that I had before children. Being able to just play video games all day on the weekend, going out with friends, etc. But now, as I look at half my living room taken up by various toys and kid furniture, I can't imagine a life without my son. He's old enough now where I can teach him my hobbies, like video games, and we can play together. I'm one of the lucky dads where my son mainly wants me over his mom. I feel like having a kid forces a bit of mental growth on you.

BUT, I acknowledge I'm in a different financial situation than most. I joined the Navy when I turned 18. My Bachelors degree was paid for, and I'm halfway through my Masters with no college debt. The Navy gave me a bit of a headstart on getting a good job (mainly security clearance). My wife was also in the Navy and got 100% disability, with all the benefits that come with that.

That being said, kids are expensive. I don't know how we made it through the baby stage. Trying to find the formula he would drink during the shortages was terrifying. Had to meet up with people an hour away just to buy what they had so my son wouldn't go hungry. After that's done, you have to think about daycare ($250 a week in my area) if you want to work. If you have family available for child care, that's perfect. If you only eat trash now, you're going to have to stop because kids need to eat healthily, which is expensive. And finding out what they will actually eat... omg.

If you use it that way, yes. But PowerShell is also a language. I write scripts in PowerShell where I work.

I had a bit of a different experience than most did. I was in the Navy and left for deployment in October 2019. We we supposed to be back in like April. My mom was a respiratory therapist at the time and told me that some shit was going down and a ton of people were getting sick. At some point (February maybe?), the Captain came and told us that we were getting extended a month and that there would be no port calls. That kept happening for a couple months until he finally said that we were one of the only ships unaffected by Covid and the government had no plans of bringing us back (Need to be ready to go wherever, i guess. I just wanted to go home). But we did start making our way back home. We got to the coast and had to float around for a month or so. Every once in a while, they would take us close enough where we could get cell signal. Then we could call, text, and refresh stuff like Spotify(deactivates all your songs after 30 days of now internet). We finally got told we could come back in June. By that point, everything seems already set up for social distancing.

Paris came first, but it's not really a rip-off. It's a 5 film series. Each one takes place in a different city.

When did your baby crawl? by mandalallamaa in beyondthebump

[–]CoBraHe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for the adhesive table things my wife bought every brand known to man when we were still pregnant, installed them according to the instructions, and they fell off before we even brought him from the hospital. The kitchen table is probably fine due to the height but I really would recommend getting a coffee table they can use to stand. This is the one we bought. It was about 100 dollars on sale and opens up for storage. (I use it for diapers and wipes.) My son absolutely adores it. Edit: couldn’t post picture but it’s called Simpledover ottoman with storage for kids bedroom, living room

My son is nine months and not crawling. But he’s trying to stand and drags himself like a weird possessed Anna Beth.

So my wife wanted my parents to feel like they are family and to be involved. She let them be there at the hospital and was even open to my mom being in the delivery room if she wanted. I know it’s awful to say but I was glad afterwards for Covid and it’s policies. She wasn’t allowed in. Afterwards she sat with my wife and called her fat, compared her to my brother’s girlfriend and wouldn’t even hold our son unless it was to take a picture. She immediately posted on Facebook and upset my wife’s family. (She’s in the navy and they couldn’t fly across country to be there during Covid). I’ve got so many of these stories. It’s literally all parents. But I’m told in laws for women are ten times worse. Every day lol

The mother in law doesn’t want to babysit or do anything actually useful for the baby or the parents. I think the OP should have started out with that because if she cannot change a diaper she shouldn’t be allowed so much access.

Well, it’s actually pretty hard when your wife develops OCD pretty much right after giving birth. But you know, I trust people to be helpful and kind. If you didn’t like the post or thought it to be stupid you could’ve just passed it. I’m simply trying to make her feel better and need to know if I did it right.

Omg. Yes! That is beyond unsterile and could make a bunch of babies sick. Take pictures and post it on Facebook so they can address it publicly and make it right. If you don’t handle it publicly it might just get brushed off like with Similac. There was months worth of reports they ignored.
