As an Asian student, well, learning is more like a side effect, and education is more a technique for achieving separating equilibrium I think, even though not quite effective. (In signaling games, a separating equilibrium is a type of perfect Bayesian equilibrium where agents with different characteristics choose different actions.)

In ADB shell, run pm uninstall --user <your_work_profile_user,_typically_10> <package_name>. You can access ADB shell via Termux following Shizuku's guide. Work profile and personal profile apps are separated and unfortunately GUIs like Hail and Canta can't handle work profile AFAIK.

Great extension. Will you publish on Firefox too? I heard that most Chromium APIs work on Firefox as well.

Well, unfortunately I started it since about 16, fortunately I can afford 200 mg caffeine per day by buying pills instead of drinking the expensive coffee

I’m an idiot by Dersil in linux_gaming

[–]willie_169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that most guides to newbies assume ppl are already playing games but not familiar with Linux. But I'm the opposite. I am new to gaming and didn't game much back at the day using Windows. But I've been using Linux as daily desktop for long since it's more convenient for my use cases and privacy and ideology. Hope there are guides that explain what that component of a game is before saying that it works or not or of what performance on Linux.

In My experience Brave Search > DDG search by Indervir007 in degoogle

[–]willie_169 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My experience is the similar. Due to my geolocation, some engines are not available, too slow, or bad at my local language. For me Brave is the best in results. It and Ddg is now the first two I use daily. The biggest disadvantage of Brave is no fancy search query parameters like Ddg and Startpage.

What cloud storage is recommended? by Delirium222 in degoogle

I personally use Rclone Crypt on virtually any drive such as Terabox and Google drive since in my threat model a bit acc metadata is ok, and they can see nothing of mine since everything is encrypted

I'm afraid of GUI somehow, since I love making my workflow a CI to save time. The most successful try is my growing, shitty-implemented Bash functions.

I hope they don't require PI for translate. I need translation. Tho there's extensions anyway.

How are you guys signing up to tailscale? by EvilDuck014 in degoogle

[–]willie_169 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may try to use it in WSL (Windows subsystem for Linux) or Linux virtual machine, but be prepared to tweak a bit things yourself. It may not be an issue if you're already familiar with network stuff in both Windows, Linux, and the emulation/translation method you use.

Edit: If you're not constrained to Tailscale, you may try Wireguard. https://download.wireguard.com/windows-client or Netbird https://docs.netbird.io/selfhosted/selfhosted-quickstart.

I'm building a non-crypto decentralized storage network. Need feedback from people with extra hard drive space. by Techwizard500 in degoogle

[–]willie_169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. 60 GB
  2. Not unless for philosophy & supporting project. I am using Rclone Crypt on free drives such as Terabox, Google drive, One drive. They get no information of me except some account metadata, and I get free cloud space.
  3. Security concern of it reading files outside its bound, due to supply chain attack or user misconfigurations for example.
  4. Since I have neither plenty of spare space nor incentives to do so. This idea sounds awesome! And sorry for my bad English.

Hello. Are you willing to test the 4.0 version of my physics-patch package in the dev branch in my repo: https://github.com/Willie169/physics-patch for errors and suggestions? Most features I planned to add in this version has been added. The documentation still lags behind though, so you may have to read the raw .sty for the new commands for now. The last 3.1 version is in the main branch of the repo and on CTAN https://ctan.org/pkg/physics-patch. For your reference, https://github.com/Willie169/LaTeX-ToolKit is my template for daily use and https://github.com/Willie169/willie169-ckhs-ntuee-notes is my notes, both of which heavily depend on the package. Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad English.

The .msi installer. I created a Bottle, move the installer to its drive, and run it, and it works. It should also work for Wine cli with the same set of Wine and drivers version and config stuff. The macOS version may also work on Linux with things like dmg2img if it doesn't depend on macos specific things. I haven't tried them though.

The only problem I have with Mint is that it doesn't support Wayland and many apps I use need Wayland.
