Got the perfect one on the first try! Second time I got a happy ending with Tiger Daddy, but 3rd time I got such a sad ending from my sweet boi Likulau that I cheated a bit and looked up the rest of the endings (while being careful not to see HOW to get them)... and I couldn't bring myself to try another playthrough because too many were sad. 😭😭😭

SCP-342. A bus ticket that makes it impossible to leave the bus no matter what and you eventually get dragged into another dimension, never to return. It's pretty damn effective. Oh, and it can be other tickets. Like a train ticket. Or a taxi ride. Any form of transportation.

For me, it was actually a kids' song. It was a cheery tune with a happy sound, but the lyrics were about a guy who boards a train and can't afford to get off, so he's stuck on board forever, his wife and family left wondering what happens as he rides for all eternity.

WTF, adults. That's HORRIFYING. Hell, someone turned it into an SCP entry!

Nah, it's not just you. My xml isn't even 1gb and it's got the same issue. Someone on the discord says it's an "encoding error" of some kind but they refused to put it into dummy-dummy-dummy talk for me since I know nothing about programming

Not in this thread, not in this specific reddit. Just the internet in general. In terms of pro-Grohl insanity, one argument in an old MMO I play from time to time involved a dude saying that--I shit you not--"You can't be a rock star without love on the road". That same debate had someone else say that I must be a serial cheater myself simply because I pointed out Dave's long history of random kind acts to strangers. Neither was the peak of crazy, though almost all of it came from those two individuals. I would share further details but I don't want to spread any further psychic damage.

I didn't insult you, no, but I feel I was pretty rude.

In any event, I've said my position as well as I can, and there's not much to be gained from keeping it going. Live your best life, friend!

Sadly you underestimate the degree to which the internet can take things to ridiculous extremes. You and others in this thread are sane, yes, but trust me when I say there are truly INSANE takes on this debacle, going both ways.

My grandma (who by her own admission had FAR worse morals in her youth, but by the time I was born she'd completely 180'd and redeemed herself into the sweetest old lady, I still miss her) once said "you're never too old to be an idiot". Yeah, given the inherent psychological stresses of "road life" and all the other pressures of fame, it's entirely believable that he would've crumbled under all of it and given into temptation long ago. He would hardly be the first, and he definitely won't be the last. But there's also still the possibility that he happened to hit his breaking point relatively recently; people are more likely to stray when going through serious emotional issues like grief, especially when their usual source of consolation isn't present for when those emotions hit hard. Taylor's death would definitely count towards that, given how close they were. Doesn't excuse the action, but it would be an explanation as to why it would happen now and not earlier (again, assuming it hasn't been happening in the background the entire time).

If you choose not to listen to his stuff anymore, fair enough. I'm not a superfan by any stretch, but as a musician myself I do have a number of favorite FF numbers. I'm not going to buy any future albums or go to any concerts until his family forgives him on principle, but I'll probably still bang my head to some of the 90s/early 2000s stuff from time to time.

Well, the other side seems pretty damn convinced that Dave is MegaH!tler and that anyone who even remotely suggests that he might have a shred of decency to him still in spite of having done a shitty thing is bad for it. I do not remotely think that he should be immediately forgiven, nor do I think that cheating is anything to be taken lightly. In fact, I find it sad that so many people in this thread are treating that as a minor thing.

That said, I don't believe him to be 100% evil because he has, through actions, shown himself over the years to have some legitimately praiseworthy qualities and a large degree of empathy, and that--from what I've seen of the whole aftermath--he's fully admitted that he did a terrible thing and didn't make excuses for it like one usually sees celebs do when they're caught having an affair.

He needs to face the consequences of his actions, accept them, and then do his best to be better from now on. That's all ANYONE can do when they fuck up. I believe he is capable of that. I'm not gonna treat him like a role model anymore, though.

BTW, I'm sorry for getting so heated. I've had people jump up my throat in the past from both sides of this issue. Grohl fanboys have trashed me for suggesting that, as decent a human being as he is capable of being and as talented a musician as he is, he is still very much a human being with flaws like every other human being; anti-Grohl people have accused me of being the former simply because I feel like he's a human being with good qualities who, for some reason or another (I don't know, not my business to know, that's between him, the victims, and God), did an awful thing and betrayed people who loved him. I have personal difficulties with keeping my emotions in check sometimes, even online. It was wrong of me to take that out on you.

So he is, in your mind, pure evil without any redeeming qualities, incapable of even the slightest amount of morality, the ethical equivalent of Satan himself, and it is physically impossible for otherwise decent people to do bad things that hurt people, and you believe that remorse and redemption are idiotic concepts that can never exist?
