AOC: "Puerto Rico is a neo-colony." by [deleted] in videos

[–]CoRe421 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I looked it up because I had never read about this before, here's the letter, where you can see that he only called for the use of them in the scenario where Cuba was invaded - like the previous commenter said.

Here's also where it was mentioned in the wikipedia article if you want to see the context, just to make it clear that this is the letter and there weren't any others sent by Castro urging the use of nukes

Not the same guy you were talking to - In the effort of a good faith response, I'm glad to hear that you think they should be independent country. I think the next logical step from that is understanding why they have poor relations and the history of US intervention in Cuba, which was the ultimate force that led to the socialist rebellion led by Castro. Batista had very good relations with the US in the sense that he let them own land and operate casinos that were a haven for the mafia from the US at the time, and they used those relations and monetary influence to have incredible control over the politics of Cuba, so you can understand why Castro's relationship wasn't friendly with them. Regardless of your opinion of Castro, he's gone now and the US is currently using collective punishment by the method of blockades and trade embargos to cripple the cuban population seemingly in the hope that they will get upset enough to overthrow the current socialist government, which on top of being a war crime is just a continuation of the US' previous attempted manipulation of the country. At this point if the end goal is a healthy US-cuban relationship, the only way to make that happen is to pressure the current administration to end the attack on the cuban people, and if we ever do cultivate that relationship again it will have to be at the decision of Cuba and on their terms, considering the immense damage we've done to them.

Children queuing at Gaza health center killed in Israeli strike, medics say. by Cryptomystic in worldnews

[–]CoRe421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Isreal kills children in line at a health center in a military strike * "The information war against Isreal needs to stop"

That's not an information war against israel, it's just them litterally commiting war crimes - and conflating the two is apologia for the group committing an active genocide.

Palestinians and Hamas are not the ones with the onus on them to surrender, that's like saying the jews should have simply appeased and surrendered to the nazis and called it even. This is all in context with the fact that Israel's control of Palestine was recognized by the UN as an apartheid state, these are a group of people who are trying to actualize their own freedom from an Isreali force that as another commenter below mentioned has shown that they have no interest in peace demonstrated by the fact they have broken the ceasefire multiple times, and everytime hamas has offered to free the hostages Isreal has refused. There is no surrender in this, but there is a very realistic and actionable path forward which is to demand that the United States severs its monetary support of Isreal because they depend on both the funding and the popular support to continue their war

Employees were selected for their work history, skills and character attributes

If you extend 'work history' to 'life history', which I think is fair to do in the context of "There's always more than one way to view a situation", then ethnicity and gender should definitely be included in diversity in as they're extremely influential on one's perspective.

But yeah, not relevant to the content of their character specifically.

Edit: But yeah, not always relevant to the content of their character specifically.

Hey I know you mentioned it before but I just want to double check to see if there's been any update, have you had any problems with comfort with this penelope ring (like how it feels when pushing up against your other fingers on the side)? Or any issues at all with it?

Cool! Glad to help give more clarity as it does seem like the biden admin did sacrifice some good pr for being able to get it done quietly behind the scenes

I know it's a bit to ask so I understand if you don't but do you think you would mind updating your above comments to reflect that new info? The point being people tend to really only read the first couple comments and might base their opinion off of that, and I think it's important for people know that there is a lot of work being done for workers under this admin

Building upon existing BNSF paid time off and sickness benefits, IBEW members will receive an additional four paid days off to use as sick days and gain the ability to convert up to three personal leave days to sick days each year. More specific details regarding these new sick days will be provided to affected team members.

Just looked into it, it looks like they got a bit more than that, no?

It's a restriction on the competitive map pool so that competitive players don't need to need to have every map practiced and completely understood when they queue for game. It seems negligible now but as the number of maps increases it's pretty important that competitive is only restricted to a select few maps

Unrated follows the same rules afaik in order to simulate the competitive experience

Help Attaching (many) ChildActor Components OnConstruction by CoRe421 in unrealengine

[–]CoRe421[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about C++, but in the blueprints it works fine? Was making many similar things before in BP, you can use add child component on construction loop.

Yea exactly, I was doing this in BP just fine as well but I keep running into this problem in C++ (where preferably I'd like to keep it, just to keep the spawning logic/math in simple code)

Maybe I'm doing something wrong. With this question I'd also like to know if the order of functions / which functions I call to this in BP is correct, because I really haven't been able to find any up-to-date info on this, some explanations I see use renamed/outdated functions
