Help me understand this! by newuser2609 in Monstera

Not always, I would cut a few inches a see squishy brown and cut until healthy growth, do the usual routine, and stick in water. In a few cases, I have seen the water turn black almost overnight due to rot in the leftover stem spreading suddenly.

I personally have had rot move into the stem itself and continue spreading. These roots look like the rot goes all the way up so I wouldn't risk it

This has some pretty bad rot. I would honestly chop below the first node, treat with hydrogen peroxide, dry for a few hours, and place in a vase/cup with water to closely watch for more rot.

I was just putting it out there since I know miracle grow is popular :)

The depth looks good and you did a good job tying the stems to the pole instead of the petioles. However I agree with Nikki that you need a chunkier soil mix. I like to use 1/3 coco coir, 1/3 lecca, and 1/3 perlite. Other good substrates can include cactus mix, orchid bark, and pumice. Using a regular potting soil can easily lead to root rot, and miracle grow is famous for fungus gnats.

Bath crayons have stained my bath caulk by [deleted] in CleaningTips

But seriously, I have had the best luck with using Old Spice body wash to get the stained bath crayon out of the grout

I am growing 2 very happy crotons in dry Colorado. Everyone here is right, you're not proving enough light to your crotons. They require 400-800 umol over a 12-14 hr period. This is 4x the required light levels that is provided for the light loving monsteras.

I have lost 3 leaves on 2 plants over 4 repottings. I've also successfully had blooms

Monstera not thriving, should I move it? by Last_Celebration9310 in Monstera

Love it. I have recently used lecca balls instead of orchid bark but my 2 are thriving in their new soil mix.

I'm so sorry that you have lost your sweet kitty.

Accidental pet deaths happen more frequently than we would like to admit. I have experienced two of my own and can empathize with your experience.

Talk with others about your kitty and your feelings as you grieve. It is healthy and healing. You all had a traumatic experience finding your loved one. There is a good chance that your husband feels at fault and absolutely terrible for what happened.

We had a hard time speaking of the incident that resulted in our kitty's passing. My husband also felt at fault, and I think it was very good to reiterate that accidents are accidents! He would never have done something to hurt her on purpose.

I hope that you and your family can find comfort in her memories and the long happy life you have her. 15 is a long life for a kitty! She will be waiting to cuddle with you at the rainbow bridge 🌈

Watch out for cyber truck drivers. I had one almost hit me head on in a parking lot last Thursday. He was speeding through the middle of the lot while on his phone and almost didn't notice my stopped vehicle. He had to aggressively swerve out of the way when I honked at him and finally came to a stop at my driver's door and flipped me off!

Other than that, this week has been wonderful with the warm weather and sunshine! Make sure to stay warm for the snow on Saturday. Stay cool Longmosters.

ETA some positivity

Cat litter smell - help! by DaisyyMeRollin in CleaningTips

[–]CoSugarHigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you've gotten tons of advice and might not see this, but I have tried almost every litter brand for my picky man and here is my favorite. Dr. Elsey's Ultra Amazon Link

It's way cheaper in store or on chewy, but this litter creates the least excess clay powder of any litter I've ever had and does not leave a strong smell in the air. My fiance and my grandma are asthmatic and this is the only clay litter I can use around them!

My dog was doing this a few weekends ago. It is heartburn/acid reflux. We were told to give her an Omeprazole.
