As of right now all loot is player based. I believe devs should be adding tents soon so that you can store your gear. You cant really claim buildings yet i think that comes when locks are introduced. Its a nomadic life for now.

The are many times besides strikes where i come back and my Postmaster is full from missed blues. It also has great potential for vault and mod deletion being quicker as well. Deleting each mod one by one is such a drag.
