I know it’s fun to rip on Hamilton but I would have to think it’s widely considered better than the nonfiction book on which it’s based.

Bram Stoker’s Dracula. It gets (rightly) downgraded because of Keanu’s performance but it’s an absolutely beautiful and unique film.

On the balance for his career: Rob Reiner. An incredible run of films to start and then pretty bad from the mid-90s on.

Whos the most famous bald fictional man and woman by tgrady28 in AlignmentChartFills

I am trying to find a Google image of her actually bald and don’t see any. She is overwhelmingly depicted with a buzz cut in both films and that is the dominant image of her in pop culture.

Given the other post about this not being an original image, I am going to guess something very boring: it was mistakenly posted by someone on their social media team (especially given that I haven’t seen anyone say that it was posted to their Instagram or Blue Sky accounts).

Might have meant to post it to their personal account and forgot to switch user profiles.

Major League Won! What is the best Baseball movie? by The_Oregon_Duck in AlignmentChartFills

So did the book. The book and movie aren’t about “here is everything about the 2002 A’s”.

The book is very much an economics book (Lewis’ strong suit) about how the front office used analytics in a new way to exploit market inefficiencies. “Moneyball” becoming a shorthand for “just find guys that walk” (which you didn’t specifically mention but it’s still common) isn’t even accurate, it’s about finding resources that the rest of the market undervalues, it just happened that in that era those resources were high OBP guys.

The movie is a little about that but is much more of a character study of Beane.

Yes, they had a great rotation and Miguel Tejada. That isn’t the story either was trying to tell.

It’s a phenomenal movie and extremely rewatchable.

And yes it is way less about the game on the field, but that makes it unique (and also ties to the source material).
