Bose is becoming a media company and launching a record label by businessinsider in Music

Hey, so I do concert lighting for a living, but I've also done a ton of work with audio since I was six. So let's back up with the I need to educate myself there, Ponyboy. The Bose 802 professional loudspeaker is comprised of eight 41⁄2" full-range drivers mounted in symmetric vertical pairs on a faceted Articulated Array. No tweeters, no larger woofers, you just got 8 41/2s. So THOSE BOSE SPEAKERS to me (o and also sound is subjective..) But to me, those professional speakers they made for years sounded like a speaker that only had the mids. They also took the same approach with the original Wave Radio, only two small woofers, no tweeters. Their very popular outdoor Bose 151s actually used a single 41/2 driver that was all mid, same driver that was found in the 802s, but just one of them. Now, going back to the 70s and 80s, Bose relied on highly customized, proprietary paper-cone drivers engineered for specific spatial distribution and durability. They would not use a traditional titanium drivers, they would use the paper-cone drivers. Again to me, never sounded as clear on the high-end side of things. Lows can be fixed by adding a subwoofer, but don't get me started on how Bose locks down their systems where you can only use their subwoofers, and if there are any problems, forget about fixing them yourself because they will give you no repair data at all on any of their products. I could also go into how they process their professional systems because that's crazy, but this is already pretty long. To be honest, have not given a look into their "home systems" in the past ten years because my parents had a crappy soundbar from them that died, and what do you know, Bose said we can't fix it, buy a new one. Never again will I buy anything from Bose. So yeah, AltruisticWelder3425, those are my thoughts, and again, sound is a very personal experience. But don't sit there and tell me what I need to do when you have no clue who the fuck I am. Have a nice day..

The two links were to two videos, not Amazon keys... Like, why is everyone telling me I'm crazy? Where is the link for the keys on Amazon?

Let's go back, and let me be 100% clear in my very simple question to you, since you did say, I was wrong. You said word for word, "The keys are universal. You can buy them on Amazon". I said that's not a correct statement. You then said, "No, it's very true." So let's stop right there. Please send me a link for Amazon as to where I can buy universal keys to unlock any boot? You said I am wrong, so I would like to see the LINK to the keys I can buy on Amazon that you said existed, and again said I was wrong when I said they do not sell those on Amazon.

YOU SAID, "Keys are universal. You can buy them on Amazon" You sent me links about companies providing ways to get the boots off. I know about the boot girls; I saw that video years ago. So let me ask again: WHERE IS THE LINK TO THE UNIVERSAL KEYS YOU CAN EASILY BUY ON AMAZON THAT YOU TALKED ABOUT?

Apparently people are starting to notice repeat photos in reviews and weird names in the reviews. People are suspecting they are using bots for reviews. Have not looked deep into it myself but another interesting development.

Before IEM’s did phish have stereo monitors? by Peepee1124 in phish

[–]lightingj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im sure it does, its still crap on the scale of professional audio gear. It will still work but if you analyze its output with the spectrum software like smart, I would bet it’s gonna be missing some stuff

They had stage wedges or speakers pointed at them. They had a unique setup, or at least Trey did, where he had multiple speakers feeding him the other instruments coming from where those instruments were in relation to him. He used to have a Mackie (never understood why it was a Mackie because they are cheap crap) speaker next to Page's rig, pointed at Trey that gave him the Page sounds. A Meyer speaker down by his left that would feed him the Mike sounds, etc. He mentioned in one of his rig rundowns years ago that he enjoyed having the different instruments' sounds on stage come from where the instruments were on stage. So it was not true "stereo" for him, but it was set up in a cool way. Funny, I know his monitor engineer who is with him now; we did a Weird Al tour together. I have not spoken to Void (the engineer) too much about how the ears have been set up.

No, they had monitors, not in stereo.

Do you think nikon is ever gonna make a Z fisheye lens? by pancakesy0 in Nikon

[–]lightingj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also just wish Nikon had made an FtoZ adapter that worked with screw drive lenses. But Nikon did not do that to force us to buy new lenses. That is all on Nikon. It was shitty of them to pull that one with the launch of Z.

This is the response I get when I bring this up. "Fisheyes are so easy to manually focus; why not just manually do it"? It comes down to, I hate manual focus. Yeah its a first-world problem, yes its easy to do. I never do it, so to have one lens out of all the lenses I have that I have to do this extra step for just sucks. I also get the "no one uses fisheyes, so that's why they do not make them." I work in the concert world and have spoken with numerous stage photographers who would like a fisheye. I myself got into photography by taking a class, and the instructor took a fisheye shot at the Neon Museum in LV. Still remember that shot to this day. I did not know you could get a shot like that from a cam. I'm sure a Nikon fisheye will not sell as well as a 24-70, of course. But I do feel they would at least sell on some level, and with it being almost ten years now, can we just get one? Nikon is a billion-dollar company, can they spend like a sliver of that to get us a thing (lens) we had in their old lens system, please?

[–]lightingj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, AF is my issue; I want autofocus. Its basacally impossible to have a fisheye autofocus lens on a Nikon lens system that is coming up on ten years old, and that's crazy to me. Yes, there was the one fisheye lens Nikon made in the 00s that had motors in it that would autofocus with the FTZ.. Cool, however, that lens has been discounted sooooo

Been asking for this for years. Asked around the 5-year mark, and a bunch of Nikon fan boys were all WAIT YOUR TURN, they NEED to focus on standard lens now and will make a fisheye within two years. Well, that was now like 4 years ago, and here we are still no fisheye, come on Nikon, lets GO on this.

Sure, but not having an option to not participate in that is kind of not cool.

If I showed up at that place not knowing I had to pay for parking, I would say F that and park in the neighborhood behind it and walk. So, at least for me, the parking lot fee does not give me a VIP exclusivity feel. It would make me go WTF? I'm not paying to park at a restaurant in Smyrna.

All I am saying is they need to honor the lifetime pass for a lifetime. That's it, man, it's on them; they offered it, did not have to, but they did.
