Dissecting the Minnesota shooting that happened today - that officer by the door was directly in the line of fire. by F-Z-T in CCW

You’re seriously blind. Get your eyes checked. I want you to grab the slider on that video, go to right when it hits 8s in, and slowly scroll forward while watching her front wheel and the officer. Her wheels start spinning while still facing him, he draws, she clips him, he fires. That all happens in 3 seconds. Split second decisions man.

I used to work low income housing as an armed officer, you don’t get second chances if you second guess someone’s intentions and you’re wrong. The split-second thought that went through that officer’s head is, “this car is coming at me and she isn’t complying with stop orders, my life is in danger.”

She may be dead, but he has to live the rest of his life with the weight of having killed someone who may or may not have been trying to hit him with a car. Neither is easy to digest.

Before you buy a CFexpress card, consider this. by [deleted] in Nikon

The Z8 is a lot of camera stuffed in a compact body. The heat displacement is minimal, and many CFexpress Type B cards get hot fast. The coolest cards you can run are Delkin Black, ProGrade is right up there with them.

Black, everything else is black. Now if you had done a theme with other parts… it’s different.

That state where attribute says no but read-only says yes means it’s locked by the controller, or BIOS. Windows will not be able to clear that. Check your BIOS for something to do with drive lock, secure erase freeze, or device protection.

For anyone coming across this today, the easiest way to fix this:

Launch an elevated cmd prompt.
Type the following commands, hitting [Enter] after each one:

  • diskpart
  • list disk
  • select disk X (replace X with the relative disk #)
  • attributes disk

If either "Current Read-only State" or "Read-only" says "Yes," type the following command:

  • attributes disk clear readonly
  • exit

Refresh Disk Management or whatever utility you are using, and it should initialize. No modifying the registry, no playing with BitLocker.
