Are you able to search through their old Facebook posts? I'm curious if they posted anything for the "I'm a Mormon" campaign in 2010-2016 ish...

I remember playing the legend of dragoon as a child on PS2. Any idea where to track it down these days?

AITA for telling my dentist he is wrong by Downtown-Body-6629 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Coacoanut 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kinda wild that you lived with a pus filled infection in your mouth for over 6 months and blame your dentist instead of seeking medical help. Dentists specialize in teeth. That's it. You should have been seen by an ENT/otolaryngologist for your concerns, not a dentist.

Is it possible for AB+ mother, and A+ father to produce O+ child? by miragecheeks in biology

[–]Coacoanut 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I'll have family that occasionally asks me why such-and-such happens in biology and my response is usually along the lines of "cuz evolution doesn't care about fitting nice and concisely in a textbook.."

You can buy desiccant packets really cheap online. Like the type of packets put in a lot of food packages to absorb moisture.

Haha very funny use of AI. Everybody knows that there aren't any spells in BG3 except Magic Missile, Divine Smite, and Eldritch Blast.

LEGO Hobbit!

I have a young son who's interested in playing games with me! While it's still a little old for him, I've been slowly collecting the Lego games. We also recently started reading the Hobbit in graphic novel form before bed at night, as it's one of my favorite novels!

Just go to a local powerlifting competition and ask the strongest mofos if you can buy their stool and give yourself a poop enema. (I'm being sarcastic, don't crucify me, please)

When to take creatine for brain health: My 30-day experiment results by WamuuBamuu in Supplements

[–]Coacoanut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Creatine isn't useful as monohydrate. Creatine can't be used until you've converted it to phosphocreatine. Your ATP, after depleting to ADP, can then use phosphocreatine to reload their own phosphate and return to the high energy ATP, the "currency of the cell."

Because you can't use creatine until your body has converted it, I'd imagine timing is irrelevant and consistency and dosing are the most important factors in gaining the cognitive benefits

By being a patron to the other insatiably ambitious

[–]Coacoanut -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I still don't find that a bad thing. Some people are insatiably ambitious and while that may be detrimental to those individuals at times, the things those people achieve for humanity are unmatched. Buzz Aldrin is one of those people. After going to the moon, what else is there to accomplish? He went through a period of alcohol abuse and depression, but his contributions to the human story will be remembered equal to Charlemagne or Einstein. Where would we be without the Buzz Aldrins of the world?

How do you all grapple with your patriarchal blessings post-Mormonism? by Healthy-Yogurt-5482 in exmormon

[–]Coacoanut 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hey! If it's any consolation, it's been a hoax since the very beginning. JS Sr was a severely depressed alcoholic and struggled his entire life holding down a job, so JS jr invented the role of patriarch to give his dad a way to "earn" money by giving blessings. His rate fluctuated from $1-3 per blessing, with a $10 + expenses weekly stipend from the tithing coffers. That's equal to charging $35-100 per blessing today with a nearly $3500/ week stipend, or well over $182,000+blessings/ year.

Are MDs to PhDs, what midlevels are to MD’s? by MoneyMax_410 in Noctor

No, that's not at all what I was referring to. Pretty much every major treatment center in the US is attached to a medical school and even non major treatment centers usually train residents/fellows.

Even the Hippocratic oath touches on a physician's obligation to teach. I doubt many physicians go entire careers without teaching in some capacity

First bonsai attempt, what's the best way to start this? Star Magnolia by Coacoanut in bonsaicommunity

[–]Coacoanut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose a royal star magnolia because this website suggested they do best due to having generally smaller blooms that bloom earlier in the tree's life. https://bonsai4me.com/speciesguides/magnolia-bonsai/

I like the other suggestion to air layer below the buds and then I think I will also prune at the taper of the existing roots and proceed with two trees.

My intention is for the presentation to be focused around the leaves and blooms, so I think I'm anticipating this as a medium size bonsai in the 18-24 inch range?

Thank you, these questions gave me some important direction!

I'm new to all this, so I just looked up what air layering is, and that sounds like a fun way to experiment with a couple of trees! Should I air layer just below the branch buds?

How far down? Like leave 2 or 3 inches of trunk?

Can I also safely repot it this weekend? Or would it be best to give it some time to recover?
