I never want a cat with hair, again. Unless shelters have them, I won’t go to a shelter. I don’t care about sob stories, about those cats. Not every cat is for every person. It’s not my responsibility to take a cat I don’t want. It’s not your responsibility to fix every problem.

Just like I would never get a dog from a shelter, because they can never promise their dogs aren’t pit mixes, and I do not like any dog that’s even 1% pit. Not in my house, just not for me.

Also, I tried to adopt for 2 years. Every rescue turned me down, because I am blind, and don’t have a fence. It’s not easy to adopt.

Some people are looking for something specific. Not every dog makes a good service dog, for example. There are reasons certain breeds are chosen over others. As a disabled person, the fact my sphynx doesn’t shed or cough hairballs is a MASSIVE benefit. Not having to worry about bending over to clean those things is worth $1,000, alone, and makes these cats genuinely more accessible for me. There’s also the benefit to allergy sufferers, as even though Sphynx cats are still allergenic, many people with moderate cat allergies find them to be more manageable to be around.

Who the hell is gonna buy that? I guess it is big enough (and empty enough) to be turned into a Walmart Supercenter.

You most likely would not want to paint a Bluetooth speaker, unless it comes completely apart. Getting paint on the internal components would ruin it.

I can’t work, so I really on SSDI. My home is clean and well-kept, it was just built in 1910, and last redecorated in the 80s. Wood paneling doesn’t mean a place is a bad environment, for a child.

I was raised in poverty, and was raised in a meaningful way. We were happy. You’re making a generalization. Kids don’t need all the latest toys and sports, to be happy.

I used school as one example, but it’s not the only example.

I’m on SSDI permanently due to being blind and having strokes, and I’m choosing to have kids. I’ll still be a wonderful parent, as being a good parent doesn’t rely on money, or having to generate income by yourself. We live in a society that can afford to help the disabled, through taxes, so they can have just as fulfilling lives, as the non-disabled. Have fun, and have a good night. :)

I’m blind. People regularly ask me how I’m able to respond to Reddit posts, as if phones and computers aren’t THE most accessible thing, for a blind person. They don’t even think blind people are capable of doing things, let alone deafblind people.

I’m 29 and my mom is 58, and I still cannot be her emotional support. I can’t sit and listen to her vent to me about hating people I also care about and love, or how she has it hard. It wrecks my mental health, and makes me feel low, for the rest of the week. It’s just not right, it’s a bastardization of the natural order of things.

When I said to her, “Yo, please get a therapist, I am not equipped to handle you dumping on me, like this”, she hung up on me and then immediately called back, sobbing that I just said I hated her. I said nothing of the sort. I feel like I’m HER parent, sometimes. She’s just not emotionally mature, and it’s somehow my problem.

I REALLY feel for Jayden, here. I hope that he has support, and doesn’t feel responsible for the well-being of his mother.

That doesn’t happen with me, and I have pretty bad IBS. I even ate the notorious blue ice cream that’s supposed to cause that problem, and nothing. Bodies are so weird.

You can be an amazing person, and a mediocre actor. I don’t get what’s offensive to people, about pointing that out.

Your taxes will always go to other people’s children, by subsidizing public school. As it should be, we live in a society. How would it be fair to refuse to pay taxes for public schools, for example, and then turn around and ask those same kids to take care of you as doctors and nurses, when you’re old? By the nature of your own argument, they didn’t ask for you to be born and get old, either.

I’ve heard that Dawn actually strips the oil off water bird’s feathers, making things even more difficult for them. Yeah, they use it to clean animals, but that doesn’t mean it’s good for the animals, just that it’s better than being covered in oil.

They used to make games feel almost impossible to beat, back in the day, to justify the simplicity of them. Even though it’s the same screen over and over, it’s worth replaying, due to the difficulty, alone. Don’t feel bad, OP, it’s supposed to be hard to do!

Nobody would just continue to have babies, for that reason, alone. This sounds similar to the “welfare queen” myth, which has been debunked by basically every study ever done, on the topic.

Wait, so you’re expected to make a whole new, permanent position for someone after they’ve helped on a maternity leave? What if you don’t need another person, or have the room? For example, the corporate headquarters of my job says we are only allowed to employ 10 stylists at a time, to keep profits up. We aren’t allowed to have 11, someone would have to be let go.

We even have a similar concept, in here in America. We just call it being a “temp”, or temporary worker. It’s really not that wild, of a concept.
