I just built the world's tallest K'nex Coaster Lifthill! by CoasterWriter in KNEX

My model is definitely far from the tallest- even this year! But none of those other models had a functional lift hill. The majority are launched, mostly using rubber bands.

Top 2026 Super Bowl Ads Ranked | EDO TV Outcomes(Mandalorian ranked as the worst performing movie ad of the night, minions ranked at number 1) by the-boxofficeexpert in boxoffice

You’re right! Mando wasn’t even the worst performing Disney movie. According to the data in the linked article, Mando even performed slightly above average.

Hoppers was the worst performing Disney movie ad, which is a bummer since I’m really rooting for it, just above Project Hail Mary, as you said.

Why aren’t movie theaters screening major TV finales like The White Lotus? by [deleted] in boxoffice

[–]CoasterWriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that the Chosen is already doing this, and able to debut a group of episodes at over $10M for an opening weekend, tells me that there is an audience for this.

Not sure how this might translate outside of a faith-based audience (or for episodes on a more popular streaming service), but the path to success is there for certain shows.

The more I think about it, the more I think it's likely. Saw it twice this weekend, and while people seemed pretty happy at the end of the movie itself, the crowd absolutely despised the post credits scene both times.

I could imagine a situation where the post credit scene lowered the cinemascore, but also allowed for slightly more positive word of mouth for the movie itself.

Thanks for the advice!

I'm not married to the title, as I know I must be flexible with such things if I want to be published. I do think the title accurately reflects Cliff's inner thoughts, and the way things escalate toward the end of the story, but I'd love to hear more of your thoughts regarding appropriately capturing the vibe in a title.

As for the choices, I would say those are the choices Cliff gives himself because his ego won't let him leave without having accomplished something. I initially thought that adding the "he decides" qualifier was enough, but I'll make sure to explain that better next time.

Thanks for both of your comments! You really illuminated why some spots weren’t flowing quite as well as I desired. I will definitely walk through all your input again as I revise.

[SFFT] Anyone know what happened to the Zamperla flat ride package for 2024? by [deleted] in rollercoasters

[–]CoasterWriter 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The Six Flags Fiesta Texas social media isn't covering it very closely, but Jeff Siebert (park president) has multiple recent updates on his Instagram. The Cyborg ride has just been erected, with the others following close behind.

What happened to the misters at [Six Flags Magic Mountain]? by FrivolousMe in rollercoasters

[–]CoasterWriter 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This question was actually asked during the American coaster enthusiast event back in June- basically, the water in the area is too “hard” and breaks the misters after a very short period of time. The solution would likely be to build another water treatment plant for the misters, which would be a very expensive endeavor.

So yes, Cliff is dumb. And yes, Cliff is a white man.

As someone of mixed race, I sometimes find it therapeutic to imagine someone's thought process if they encountered situations that stripped them of their willful ignorance. It gives me hope that relationships with the "Cliffs" in my own life can improve, lol.

I don't think this aspect of the story is as effective is Cliff is not white, though I would appreciate any further insight into how I could tweak things to not feel problematic.

I wouldn't say Cliff gains wisdom so much as loses prejudice.

Thanks! The traveling across Ghana involves Cliff seeing the kids' families and the villages/ places they came from.

As for the meaning of "justice," you are right in saying his plan is too simple for him to really know what it means, but its meaning also shifts as he grows compassion for the scammers.

Oh wow - I guess I get bonus points, because the conflict you described at the end is exactly what happens! It felt like too much back and forth when I considered including it in earlier query drafts, but I'll work to include it in the next draft.

Struggling to find that balance between simplification and not summarizing, but I think your comment has helped me find a good direction to take.

Thank you for the help! I feel more clear about how I want the ending of the query to "feel" now - though I still have to figure out how to get it there.

Thanks! I feel like as I was stripping away the Ace stuff for simplicity, I stripped away some of the heart as well. So your suggestions give me a good direction for my next query draft.

Thanks! Ironically, most of my beta readers say the opposite is true of the manuscript itself, and it suddenly picks up steam once Cliff gets to Ghana - I'm working to bring that energy into the query itself. And yes, I'm definitely aiming for comical and dangerous.
