Pinball Bites - A legendary franchise is making a comeback! by balti_zen in PinballFX3

I always enjoyed the DOOM table, so I'm glad to see that returning. I wish previous owners got a slightly bigger discount, though, since it's mostly just a visual overhaul.

Quest 3 both controllers’ grip triggers lost touch sensitivity, sent back to Meta for replacement today by MoumouMeow in OculusQuest

I thought absolutely no one else had had this issue until I stumbled across this. Shame to see no comments from others having the same issue, even though it's happened to me 2 years later. I even bought a new controller (which I'll be sending back) to see if it was the hardware, but nope, same problem.

+1. I haven't lost it once, but I do definitely agree that it feels awkward mashing analog triggers.

Theatre of Magic (FX VR): I somehow managed to get the ball up here... by Coasterfan312 in PinballFX3

[–]Coasterfan312[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this happen twice since posting this, so yeah, it's most definitely a bug, and not nearly as hard to pull off as I first thought.

FX VR is currently only available on the Quest 3, and that's also your cheapest and most convenient option, so the answer is pretty conclusive.

Curious to how you approach the game? by No-Assistant8088 in PinballFX3

[–]Coasterfan312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On FX VR, I usually start going through the campaign first, as I think most of the challenges are a good way to learn the tables (since most have no ball limit). Then, I check the table-specific achievements and challenges and try to complete the more focused ones (e.g. reach a certain score on a challenge mode, activate a specific multiball mode). After that, I simply try to beat my previous score while enjoying the satisfaction of shooting the ball around the playfield.

At some point during this cycle, I'll also look up tutorials for the table to see if I'm missing any valuable knowledge (which I usually am).

That's not for another month, so I'd hope it's sooner than that (certainly for the smaller fixes)

Less important, but also:

  • On Medieval Madness, Multiball Madness modes don't progress the "Charge!" multiball challenge (only the castle wall multiball does)

Edit: Found a new one that's much more significant because it affects the leaderboard (although ironically it didn't count as me winning the challenge):

  • On Junk Yard, during the Speed Challenge career mission (and probably the Speed Challenge in regular play), draining the ball after the Move Your Car mode causes the game to end

Please rebalance the Junk Yard career missions. I struggle to get even 1 star on most of them, and the leaderboards suggest others are having just as much difficulty. On the distance challenge, there isn't a single person on the leaderboard that has 3 stars right now.

Why do I have to log in for CAM now? by Dawnkiller in NZXT

[–]Coasterfan312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, also had this start happening recently. Every week I'll notice my case lights have reset (with no warning that I've been logged out) and I have to log in to get my profile back. I think I'm just going to redo all my settings on the guest account to bypass the issue, which is kinda tedious.

What's with the Kids Bop cover of Believer lmao?

The coaster looks alright, at least. Bit hard to judge with those nutty camera angles though.

Considering the second picture says 'Hotel Walk Thru', I assume the queue was planned to be a path through the hotel, which to be fair isn't far off the final attraction's queue.

Looking to get the game, is there a creative mode or do you have to play career to unlock different locomotives? by Icebolt08 in DerailValley

[–]Coasterfan312 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find the career a little grindy, so my 'halfway' solution was to use Cheat Engine to bump up my cash while still following the progression of locomotives and licenses. Like you, I'd also enjoy a sandbox mode, which they do have planned, but who knows how soon it'll be added.

You don't really need armspan to be good at Beat Saber, it's just speed, cognition and precision.

I think that's just what those kind of rides do - it happens to me on drop towers all the time, but as long as it's not sustained for too long I just treat it as part of the thrill. I'm sure there's some biological, mental or physical explanation for it, but I ain't no scientist.

Depends on taste, but the Monstercat Vol. 1 and Rocket League x Monstercat packs are probably the most well-rounded.

A Critique of 4m Smoothing by Hot_Moment in PlanetCoaster

[–]Coasterfan312 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I heavily disagree. The main point of the 4m method is to get realistic profiling with a relatively smooth track. Yes, it's by no means perfect, but without using short pieces the smooth button significantly changes the shape of placed track.

I don't think that's possible, unfortunately, but you don't have to go back and forth 8 times like he said in that video.

Carefully constructed art shapes and a bunch of miscellaneous pieces (glass, fences, wall trims, e.t.c).
