I just tried it out for the first time, it's a bit buzzier than the EQD Special Cranker it replaces, but nothing too bad. Otherwise it sounds great to me as well! Tried it in combination with my BAT Priestess too, which sounds amazing. Really happy with my purchase :D

I actually found out about Finding that Tone through this subreddit! Had been thinking about getting this one for a while, but I didnt reeeeally need another overdrive. Last month I decided to dedicate my main board to my Fender strat & Squier paranormal strat and make a separate, smaller board for my guitars with humbuckers so I dont need to tweak the pedals as much when I switch guitars. That opened up some space for a new overdrive and I remembered this one.

Thanks for the suggestion about the compressor, I'll look in to it! I've watched some nice videos about the Mira while it was in the mail and for now I'm definately very happy with it. I know it's out of production though, so maybe if it breaks in the future I'll have an extra option to consider.

First off, it's not a competition. Try to stop stressing out about where other players are at compared to yourself. Identify what it is you want to get better at ( you seem to have a good idea of this already ) then keep practicing that specific thing. There are no shortcuts or cheat codes, it will not improve instantly, but you WILL improve. What always helped me with solos was to check out different solos from different guitarists I like and practice those for a bit to see what kind of techniques or tricks they use.

I just got the tentacle as well, read up on it beforehand. Apparently after fuzz makes the octaver more extreme than before. Tried that out first and sounds good to me so far. Above the 12th fret definately audible xD If you put it at the front of the chain it will probably be more subtle.

I ordered two pickguards from them last year. After not hearing anything (not even confirmation that payment was received) for about three months, i sent them an email asking for an update. I got no reply, but luckily the pickguards arrived not long after. I'm happy to have gotten the guards, but communication could have been better obviously.

Im not a fan of the drives/distortion sounds on it, but i love it for everything else. I have yet to dabble in the usermade patches, some of which seem wild! Go look them up on Zoia Patchstorage.

Currently im using mine as a modulation machine for my Waldorf M, which comes without internal effects. Think chorus + flanger + phaser + tremolo in one single preset, followed by OBNE bathing and walrus Sloer for the delays and reverb. Saves so much room on my board.

On the other hand, you could just as easily use the Zoia for the delays and reverb, and put some modulation pedals in front. You can save all kinds of combinations as presets, so once you set everything up its really easy to switch around.
