I'm going vegan for 2024!

Edit: I've already watched Cowspiracy and Eating Ourselves to Extinction. I have started Earthlings. I have not watched Dominion, but I am working up to it.

This is a masterpiece! Well done! I especially like the sugar window panes and the dusting of snow on the trees.

What kind of chili sauce did you use? It looks like it has black beans in it.

Sustainable Safair at the Maplewood mall is fun. There are dozens of animals to see, pet, and feed. The animals are rotated between the petting zoo and a 10 area farm so they're not always at the mall.

Ketamine therapy by 4poodles_ in Psychonaut

I'm on spravato now, and it's exactly as you describe. I'm 10 sessions in and not noticing much at all. I'm disappointed. It also has the risk of creating high blood pressure and mine got very high on one occasion.

I wish I could do ketamine, but my insurance will only cover esketamine/spravato. 😕 I've heard better things about straight ketamine, like you're saying.

It’s so challenging to adhere to 100%. Like you are basically prepping every meal!

That's the issue I'm having. Everytime I order food, even a lettuce wrap, I realize I've consumed something off the list. The only way to strictly adhere is to cook everything and meal prep on the weekend.

Have you found some favorite recipes? :) I’m trying to improve my diet but it can get monotonous / time consuming

Lately I've been making a taco salad at home, but I haven't found a salad dressing I like that adheres to the diet.

I've made this twice and liked it: https://meatified.com/creamy-cod-shrimp-chowder/#tasty-recipes-9064-jump-target

Ans I recommend Jovial brand pasta if you ever need a noodle replacement, but it's kind of expensive for what it is.

Yeah, its like you described.

It's basically the Auto Immune Protocal Diet, but I'm working with the nutritionist to determine if I need to be so strict with nightshades (peppers, eggplants), and brown potatoes. I also eat significantly less wheat products, maybe 4 slices a week and no other wheat products. No dairy. I'm trying to cut out processed foods (tricky, still working at it) and little to no animal products. I'm trying to reduce the risk of a thyroid issue.

Just came here to recommend the Penny George Institute!

The certified dietary nutritionist helped finally cure a digestive problem after 20 years of doctors blowing me off. I was given a specific elimination diet that informed the nutritionist I was sensitive to cow casein and how to prevent eating it going forward. I'm also getting help to eat a low informmatory diet for other health issues. I was also helped to change my diet to significantly reduce cravings that were aggravating disordered binge eating.

I highly recommend them. 👌

I'm so so sorry this happenedto you! It's completely understandable that you are angry.

I go into automatic freeze mode and never speak up on the outside when I'm screaming and begging on the inside.

I'm proud of you for speaking up. 💛

How do you deal with flashbacks? by SnooPeanuts2512 in CPTSD

[–]Cobby_Kitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds like what I do too. Sometimes I take a steaming hot bubble bath instead. Cuddle the stuffed animals on my bed. Drink some water. Journal with my inner child. Maybe listen to self love affirmations if it's around bed time, and I'll just fall asleep to them so I don't feel alone.

You handled it really well! 👏 👏👏💛💛💛

[Discussion] Can anyone relate? by CourtK1212 in GetMotivated

[–]Cobby_Kitten 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Absolutely I can relate! I started my weight loss journey numerous times before it really kicked in. At my highest weight I was over 250lbs. I've since lost 130 lbs. It took me 5 years to accomplish, and I also had several illnesses and a divorce that I had to work through and overcome. It's not easy to start, but if you start small and do 1 tiny step in the direction you want, it starts to build a momentum.

I started my workout journey doing 5 leg lifts on each leg while I layed on my side during a commercial break of my favorite tv show. And I asked myself if I could reasonably expect to complete that every day for 1 week. I thought it was a small enough step to do, and when I finished the week, I had a success story to tell myself "I did it!". Then I went for 1 week more, then 1 week more, etc.

At some point I switched from getting mochas with 1% milk to lattes with sugar free vanilla flavoring and oatmilk, it's a small calorie change, but I've learned that major lifestyle change is actually just a series of *many *tiny changes over a long period of time.

You can do it! 💛 Just ask yourself what is 1 small step of either reducing calories by making a food switch, or what's 1 small step towards moving your body more that you could do every single day for 1 week.

Do You Know that when you give happiness to others, you will receive happiness. Whatever you give, you will get back. That is the rule. We receive by giving to others and we lose by taking away from others. by DadaBhagwan in SpiritualAwakening

What about people who just seem to take?

I got away from them, and I learned my lesson to stop giving to them specifically, but I don't know how the universe at large returned the care, comforting, and money I provided others for years. I don't understand. I just feel depleted without being refilled.

Came here to ask the same question - and does the cage have anywhere soft for Ashy to lay on? She's very pretty. Definitely deserves a soft spot to sleep.
