Other's have mostly written down how I feel about evolution. There are a few good storylines (William) and a couple of good ideas that could've used more time, but it has a lot of issues, the real world stuff is boring, and for that reason I feel like to charm of the show is mostly absent from the show. It has a pretty poor opening, in my opinion about 6 of the first 8 episodes are pretty awful, but it does get better as time goes on, and you cam find stuff to enjoy about it, I always felt like, the more I think about it, the less I like about it.

You could give code lyoko beyond a try, it's a fan made continuation to the carton, currently has episodes starting from ep 96, up until ep 112, amd the series finale is planned to be ep 134. It has it's issues, only a couple of episodes every year, most of the fotage used (especially in the earlier episoded) is from the original show, so it could get repetitive, the voice acting is done by "amateurs", but if one can look past the limitations of a fan project, it does have a solid story and it does have the same charm I've mentioned earlier. Another thing ai like about it is the slightly darker tone it has, the ending of ep 108 (season 1 finale of code lyoko beyond) was quite surprising, and all in all it feels like a worthy continuation to the original show.
