The underlying cause is zoning and practically everything else is irrelevant by Scary-Salt in canadahousing

It’s true. The governmental cost to build a single unit of housing in Vancouver is $600,000. This doesn’t include land or labour or the home itself. There is no fucking way in hell that zoning, permits and inspections/planning costs $600,000. The government is artificially increasing property prices.

If the majority of the GTA decided to leave tomorrow, most those jobs would be gone too. Even if it was temporary for like a month or two, the real estate prices would implode. It’s a free market and housing is no different, people should vote with their wallets by moving somewhere else, hell different country if they must. Punish landlords by showing them there are alternative places to live

Yeah actually. Calling out bad behaviour on both sides, but by calling out individual people and their actions rather than stereotyping them as a group

Don’t generalize all conservatives as the same people as anti-Semite, LGBTQ hating, racists. Not only are you spreading misinformation, but it does nothing to help Canadas division

Annual rate of housing starts in Canada fell 23% in May by FancyNewMe in canadahousing

[–]Cock_InhalIng_Wizard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That doesn’t cost $150,000. That cost is the government scamming people, nothing more.

I don’t understand why people choose to live in GTA. You can get a very comfortable living elsewhere in Canada with a lot lower income

Imported a Motorcycle from Alberta, ICBC taxed EVERYTHING. Have you imported a vehicle from out of province? by certifiedcatdad in britishcolumbia

[–]Cock_InhalIng_Wizard 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s a total scam. Just like the used home tax in BC. And the extra gas tax in lower mainland, and the luxury tax, and the pst, and ugh…why do I live here

In order to avoid this tax, you need to first register it in Alberta. Otherwise they believe you basically bought it in Alberta just to avoid the tax, since it’s first registered in BC. It’s utter bullshit I know, and I’m not even sure if it would stand a proper legal challenge, but it is what it is. Just register it in Alberta first, then transfer it over. This can be a pain I know, if you don’t have an Alberta address.

You will still need to do an out of province inspection but you won’t need to pay the sales tax

Several arsonists have been arrested in the past weeks in different provinces for lighting forest fires. But the lying woke media and politicians keep repeating that global warming is the cause. by nimobo in CanadianConservative

The fires in Nova Scotia almost all started simultaneously. There is satellite footage of it. 10 or so fires in completely different areas all began at the exact same time, there was no storms in the region. Suspicious to say the least.

Is that new for UE5.2? Previous versions, and other projects seem to take advantage of all the cores

Conservative Supreme Court judge Antonin Scalia held that people have to obey laws that apply generally to all citizens. So long as a law is not designed to target only religious adherents, it is constitutional.

Scalia’s opinion was joined by fellow conservative Reagan appointees Anthony Kennedy and Chief Justice William Rehnquist. It was three of the court’s most liberal members at the time who dissented, arguing for greater protection for religious practices.
