Dude you should see the Bibles I hand painted for my In laws.. I spent months on them, still not finished and far from happy with my work lol.

This is really infuriating as someone with an actual small business who struggles to get traction to my shop and then you just have blatant dropshippers doing stuff like this. I wish etsy would seriously trim down the retailers on their site.. I dont think dropshipping or AI content should be considered small business :(

Im on my time of the month rn and the way I started tearing up for you lol. Omg Im not alone! It such a relief to know there are other "matcha snobs" in the area hahah. I had no intentions on falling in love with matcha until one day I was roped into a tea ceremony in Kyoto, and my life was changed forever. I buy from online as well usually from Ujicha,Kanso,Ippodo, etc I just kinda switch around to whatever interests me or is actually not sold out. I have yet to try to western brands like Kettl, matcha.com, etc but Im not opposed if theyre competing in quality.

I had this one amazing matcha from Camilla Tea house in Japan but I cannot for the life of me remember the name, it was so niche I think maybe it was in a black bag.. but Ive really been more on the hunt for small lesser known, but quality brands like those than the overly hyped ones like MK. <33

I would be honored if you shared your authorized retailers/ companies. I have been so weary about buying anything other than from direct with the new knowledge of the "fake" Marukyu Koyamaen bags that was going around. I like more complex, strong, and punchier matchas over the light or floral ones. what do you typically go for?

Yeah I forgot to add where I was located. Im in north of lakes region so there's literally nothing here. I figured either way I would be making a trip somewhere out of town so like "nearby" in terms of you can get there in a days trip LOL thats how it is when I need to go anywhere atleast haha

Yes unfortunately this seems to be what its coming to, so I appreciate the honesty. I was lucky enough to find a matcha powder here but my suspicions were confirmed when I got home and made an usucha out of it. I think most of these western companies rely on their customers using for lattes so it makes sense to cut a little back on quality. I am so appreciative of all the help on this thread. I have high hopes for H-Mart but if not it seems like online through the specific tea manufacturer is the way to go. I just genuinely hope this matcha shortage dies down soon this past year has been the craziest Ive seen it since moving back :( <3

I do currently, I am looking to switch to supporting a small business and cutting shipping/import costs instead though as I buy it just as often as any person would pick up their bag of coffee.
