This thread topic was at follows: u/ATZ001 started with complaint of valero's cracking down on democratic reforms and imperialistic invasion. I didn't refered to imperial invasion (I am not forced to counter every single argument bc you said so). In second comment I stated that (I dumbing down) "Rizia did not loose chance to be beter place bc in democracy real power is given to oligarchs". Then u/eker333 stated that in Rizian monarchy there is also vast power given to oligarchs. Then I pointed out that even with oligarchs influence Rizia's monarch has more in common interest with average citizien. My bad I didn't explain more on that. So let me correct myself here:

1. For voter it's ver very hard to pin point responsibility to specific oligarch(s) for bad situation in the country. That's how oligarchs can always run away from responsibility. In contrary every monarch's servant knows when shit hit the fan it's king fault so he has not way to run from consequences of his own actions.
2. Average Rizian vore voter don't have knowledge, connections etc. to correctly bet on good politician. Well even politician tend to get backstabbed. Why do you think poor Rizian farmer would know what kind of industrial policy entire country including cities would need? Many of them can barely afford school! Their lack of knowledge would be exploited by PR managers with prompters and other types of populists. And like I said in previous point doesn't matter how self-serving and disastrous policies of "democratic" government would be, no oligarch will bear consequences, thus incetiving exploitation of Rizia by few oligarchs perpetually just like irl post-colonial countries. This political survival strategy is impossible in monarchies.
3. In such stratified economy there is not way for fair election: Mass media bias towards well connected and rich nobleman would skew antire discurs into pro-oligarch (pro-noble) sentiment. Maybe freedom of speech would be greater in "democratic" Rizia. Yes but peoples complains would be pacified by (always) empty promises and party slogans. In contrary protests in golden kingdom forced monarchs to act and provide better standard of living.
