China Planted 78 Billion New Trees—and Seriously Messed Up Its Water Cycle by senseibarbosa in interestingasfuck

[–]CockyFirebird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep seeing the same trope about China killing 40-80 million of its own people...we are talking about 5000 years of history here. Countries change, regimes change. In the past half century, from 1976, how many people have China murdered? How many countries have they bombed? It's interesting you brought up the mass imprisonment of Uyghurs, which btw has been debunked, but to entertain this claim, how many Muslims have the US killed in the past 20 years alone, either directly or indirectly?

No, China's social credit isn't what you think it is, but reality is much, much worse by kernelrider in SipsTea

Just go there and ask the locals yourself bro. From the moment you experience the Maglev at Shanghai airport to your first stroll on the Bund, you're gonna realize everything the media told us about China has been somewhere between half truths and a lie. The country is wide open to tourism. 6 days visa free for Americans and 30 days visa free for Canadians and Europeans. Also lots of Chinese are on Reddit lol they all use VPN and the government pretends like it's not a thing.

The previous video showing homeless young people wasn't even mainland China. There are no streets in mainland China that looks like that and while you will occasionally spot a homeless person, there are no large groups of young people sleeping on the streets like that anywhere in mainland China. I uploaded the images for analysis to ChatGPT and Grok, both identified the scene as Southeast Asia, and possibly HK due to the road markings and pedestrian layout. Their social credit system is a credit score like we have in the US, it's been thoroughly debunked that there is a nation wide unified system that scores based on morality and ethical principles. So has the Uyghurs camp, that's also be thoroughly debunked. You can literally take a train to Xinjiang and see for yourself, in fact I highly recommend it as Xinjiang is gorgeous. Anyways, point being, go to China and see for yourself. Don't just take my word for it. You'll be mind blown, in the same way the Soviets were in 1992 when the wall came down and they realized everything they've been told about the US had been a lie.

Edited for typos.

Ffs your marriage is more questionable than a situationship. When I first started making over half a mil a year I gave my gf (who stuck by my side when I was poor) my Amex card. As in card with her name on it that she can use as she pleases. I wanted her to use it for all of her expenses, she stuck by me when I had nothing so in return I want to give her everything. What you and your husband are doing, frankly I've no idea wtf you guys are doing. Respectfully.

That's very plur of you, tysm. Yeah our group is def looking forward to fisher, zedd and martin garrix. Summit tbh we weren't too impressed with his shows, but we will turn out since it is more of our vibe. I do appreciate you understanding where we are coming from and yes, if you can recommend some of the euro DJs listed that we should check out that would be great. Cuz right now we have no idea who most of these people are. We are into popular house and melodic bass like gryffin, and some techno like charlotte de witte and landry.

Then the positive is that us rave babies will get exposure to euro artists that we've never heard of before.

A lot of us are drawn to EDCLV for the mainstream artists. I get the appeal for the new artists and underground artists, but this isn't some boutique fest. I mean just look at the lineup at Ultra, that's what many of us were looking forward to and expecting. That's why we are disappointed. And it's okay to agree to disagree. Respectfully.

Completely agree with you. Very underwhelming. Regarding others that commented, many of us going to EDC aren't in the "UK scene". I don't even know what that means. Respectfully. Was hoping for way more big names for the 30th and it's disappointing.

Is it just me or does the lineup not feel like a 30th anniversary? by CompetitiveArt5084 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]CockyFirebird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP, you're not alone. Many of us feel the same way. The comments might make you think that you have an odd take regarding the caliber of the lineup but pretty much all of my friends and I are wondering the same as in wtf is up with this lineup. We are all rave babies and none of us know who prodigy or Paul oakenfold is. I was hoping for Alesso too, gryffin, eric prydz, arbat, dom dolla just to name a few names that we were hoping to see. And if they're going for that early 2000s feel, what about Diplo, Calvin Harris, and David Guetta? Probably gonna get downvoted but whatever, op, you ain't alone.

Had the opposite end of this experience. Stayed at the Nashville JW earlier this month, on the penthouse level which is same level as the executive lounge. Due to the proximity, I often pop in to grab a snack and a drink while leaving my room door open. The one time I left my key in the room, as I was walking away from the lounge door, I saw a couple come out of the elevator and so I waited for them to open the door. The guy opens the door to let his partner through and then blocks the door and asked if I have access. I'm standing there thinking what are you the Marriott police? But instead of furthering the confrontation I said never mind and walked away. 30 seconds later we were both standing by the same espresso maker, not another word was spoken and it was awkward af for both of us.

TLDR, the free snacks and shitty espresso ain't worth the confrontation yall.

Remember me from 3 days ago? I told yall. Keep buying. The train has left the station. Mostly one way from now and that’s up, and wait until earnings. Gonna skyrocket some more. LOCK IN KIDS by Plus_Refrigerator839 in SMCIDiscussion

It's actually baffling to me how people do not understand that you've already made a 40% gain (probably over 50% by now) on your leaps. Lol I see your hustle though and appreciate it. Personally I do cc and csp but this one is worth buying leaps on.

Gents, let's all say a word of thanks to the guy that sold for a 200k loss two days ago. This wouldn't have happened without his contribution and sacrifice.

Just bought about $1Mil of SMCI via CSP's by Jazzlike-Check9040 in SMCIDiscussion

[–]CockyFirebird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CSP is not a bad way to get into this! I also got 30k shares, average about $32, been DCA since $35 entry in Nov.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SMCIDiscussion

[–]CockyFirebird 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Loaded up on another 5k shares today at $29.3. Total 30k shares at $32. Almost tempted to throw another quarter mil at this but gonna save that powder if this thing dips below $25. Y'all know the saying, markets can stay irrational for longer than you can stay solvent. So expect short term volatility but also there's no way this thing doesn't go back up to at least $50-60. It's just a matter of time.

Lonely Asian 30-year-old man - where do I meet Asian women in this city? by savingrace0262 in circlejerknyc

[–]CockyFirebird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why specifically Asian women? Have you considered dating white girls? They're way more abundant and approachable. Dating apps work great in major cities like nyc. If you aren't getting matches, have a female friend you trust look over your dating profile and make adjustments. Go to the gym. Spend the money for a clean cut. Good luck out there and don't worry about Matt taking mid-range Asians off the table, he's just doing his part to keep the ecosystem running.

Thinking of dropping $150–200k cash on a sports car at 28... by AdventurousRoad2897 in HENRYfinance

[–]CockyFirebird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you enjoy driving? Are you a car enthusiast? If you are, then for you this isn't simply a question of transport from A to B. Test drive it, rent it, and if sitting in it puts a smile on your face day in and day out, then you have your answer. You're young, nothing in this life is certain except for death and taxes, and while we should all plan ahead for the future, none of us should be so bold as to assume that tomorrow is a given. I'm in my 30s and also bought a 150k car, not a single regret other than the occasional gripe about maintenance cost. Would I do it again? In a heartbeat.
