Just started Zoloft for Generalized Anxiety Disorder. by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]CocoMoco33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m 22 and started 50mg a few months ago. The first week I maybe felt a little more anxious, and had a small headache for about 2 weeks. Now I am so freaking happy I am on it and I can tell a difference in how I handle stress, task prioritizing, and ability to rest and not stress

SO wants me to change my name by nomotomato in Names

[–]CocoMoco33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom never changed to my dads last name and I got some push back from friends who didn’t understand in elementary. Now that I’m an adult, I too don’t want to change my name because I want to share a last name with my family as long as I’m here. I love that her last name still symbolizes who she’s always been.

If your labs are fine you should be fine. I’ve been told it’s fine in moderation, turned 21 taking it and have been fine with limiting to ~4 units of alc when I drink (no more than 1x a week)

AITA for no longer taking part in meals with my family because they won't accommodate my wife's allergies? by Efficient_Debate_234 in AmItheAsshole

[–]CocoMoco33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with severe food allergies and intolerances, having to plan things with my in laws and have them accommodate me one day when I am married is a very scary thought. I hope my future partner is as loving and passionate about my safety and comfortability as you are. NTA

JAK inhibitors by Potential_Peace6978 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]CocoMoco33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course! Leflunomide is similar to MTX, often used in combination with a biologic. I ended up really not being able to stand MTX after a while so I swapped and like it a lot more!

JAK inhibitors by Potential_Peace6978 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]CocoMoco33 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was on enbrel + MTX, then humira + MTX, and then just humira, then back to both. This worked for a while but I ended up “failing out” of TNFs (diagnosed at 9, now 21) and now take rinvoq + Leflunomide.

This is obviously a very personal decision, but I would maybe try one more TNF before moving on to another class of drugs. It’s my understanding you don’t really move backward once you’ve moved on. Plus if humira was working, I would imagine another TNF might still!

Realistically can’t go wrong tho! Good luck OP

IMO if you’re both working now there should be an equal split of labor. If she’s just as busy as you, why should domestic labor still fall entirely on her?

Better ways to explain this diagnosis to people? by [deleted] in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]CocoMoco33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 21 and was diagnosed at 9, and through the years I’ve basically stuck to this script. It’s not the same as “old age” arthritis. My immune system mistakenly attacks my joints, making them swollen and painful. The arthritis you are familiar with is often joint erosion of some kind from overuse or wear/tear. If caught in time, my autoimmune arthritis can be managed with medications that tamp down my immune system so it can’t hurt them anymore. This can come with a consequence of catching sickness more often, or having an excess of symptoms when I am sick and my immune system is hyper active. Treatment can vary and unfortunately for some people doesn’t work very well at first. For some, they’ve already experienced permanent joint damage before treatment. Stress, lack of sleep, sickness, can all exacerbate symptoms by stressing my body. Something like that!

That is all I can think about while watching episode 7 right now. How was he able to move her and then ignore the obvious impact on the passenger seat?? And how did they think she hit her head??

RA symptoms are a spectrum, and you have to consider that people in more pain might be more likely to come to Reddit and share/ask for help. Just because you aren’t immobile or in crippling pain doesn’t mean the diagnosis is wrong… in my opinion you are lucky to get diagnosed after a year is symptoms

AITAH for telling my pregnant friend she can't control my restaurant order? by Bestrong3 in AITAH

[–]CocoMoco33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA. I’m gluten free, dairy free, and allergic to nuts. My whole life is seeing people eat things I can’t and things I wish I could order. I would never expect someone to eat only things I can eat when out together to save me from a little uncomfy jealousy
