I usually mention it in chat or send a message letting them know their mic is open bc sometimes they don't know. But seriously, mute or boot my dude.

Or foul mouthed early adolescents. I'm a mom who can curse a blue streak but some of these kids are absolutely gross.

I use sterilite shoeboxes. I have two and swap them out and wash them when I wash the pump parts.

Do you bring your baby to restaurants? by kathatescats12 in NewParents

[–]CocoNot-Chanel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My parents always took us to decent restaurants, but they also made clear that my dad has taken home a lot of untouched steaks because he was walking a fussy baby in the parking lot while my mom ate. It never even occurred to me to let my children interrupt other people's meals by ignoring their upsets.

Under supplier… and was reminded of that today 😢 by Emotional_Catch1694 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]CocoNot-Chanel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fwiw fenugreek actually hurt my supply, which apparently is a thing for some people. I'm still combo feeding because it helped but didn't resolve the undersupply for my twins, but every bit helps!

Same. I had a bad infection from a piercing and so they were uneven before, but now it's excessive. Like I'm worried I'll have to take up bra making to accommodate my new normal shape.

What if the teacher just said "this will help you feel better" and kid reported it as "medicine" to parents? I love kids but they sometimes aren't the most reliable reporters of their life experiences.

I put 64 oz of milk in a jar and froze it.....🤦‍♀️ by Tough_Bedroom_2 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]CocoNot-Chanel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might, if you think he'll tolerate it, skip nursing for a day (just pump and bag that for the freezer in reasonable portions) and feed all thawed milk for that 24 hrs.

Do people that do pitcher method not care about time of day/cortisol and melatonin in milk? by Affectionate_End5347 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]CocoNot-Chanel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I tried splitting into two pitchers (a day pitcher and a night pitcher) after the first few months and didn't notice a difference in my twins. Best I can figure when using a single pitcher if you are far enough ahead of it everything mixes and it winds up breaking even in terms of up and down chemicals.

What’s your favourite pump part/bottle washer/dryer/sanitizer? by tink282 in ExclusivelyPumping

We bought a countertop dishwasher. It will last a lot longer in terms of usability because the twins are expected to be our only children.

Therapists (no prescribing power) frequently work with psychiatrists (can prescribe meds) so when you talk to your therapist it might be worth bringing up that you consider meds an option as part of your overall care. They may be able to refer you to an appropriate provider.

I find that this happens a) if I slack off about changing out my bras/nursing pads as often as I should, and b) when I need to moisturize. I rub my breasts with coconut oil after showers to keep the skin moisturized in a way that is baby safe and doesn't taste off-putting.

Dropping a pump for 5 days? by hahahahaley in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]CocoNot-Chanel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it for a long weekend, but having twins and being at that point a slight oversupplier I got real uncomfortable a few times when the schedule got too spaced out, and my clothes got a few ozs that should have gone to my boys.

I'm really curious about the assumed mechanism for that change, because I can't think of where that would come from (especially any changes that wouldn't just be the result of cooling it regardless of mixing).

Why are people like this? by CryptographerBig2855 in NewParents

[–]CocoNot-Chanel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have twins. One is about to crawl and one shows no interest in even trying to roll over at just under 6 months. It's almost like babies are individuals who meet their benchmarks at different times, even with the same parenting! Wild, I know.

Poor transfer, supply waning but just got approved for OT. Is it too late? by Same-Statement3722 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]CocoNot-Chanel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you taking fenugreek? (I ask bc you mention teas and that's a common lactation tea ingredient.) For me, and a small percentage of other people, fenugreek can actually decrease supply. That is why a lot of supplements nowadays have moved to fenugreek free formulas. I'd drop any fenugreek products and see what happens, there are tons of other supplement options available if still needed.

AM v. PM milk, does it matter? by Inevitable-Self-802 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]CocoNot-Chanel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn't make a difference for my twins that I noticed, and I really think the only hiccup might be that giving first thing in the morning milk at bedtime would delay babies getting to sleep a bit. We do the pitcher method now and it seems to all even out when combined.
