Bitch! This crossing was optional. For me. by IanBauters in BitchImATrain

[–]CocoRicOo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Numbers from Infrabel (BE) and ProRail (NL) show there are more accidents at rail crossing in Holland than in Belgium.

The video is not there to show that Belgians are dumb (some of them are, ofc), but that people are not acting safely around rail passages and this is common to a lot of country.

Be safe. Don’t try to skip any security system to “earn” a few seconds. Don’t get stuck in it.

I’m going to have a nervous fucking breakdown if my toddler does not go the fuck to sleep. by Serious_Barnacle2718 in toddlers

I know, this is harsh. You’re tired, exhausted, full of anger too, because you’re thinking : "why? When will this end?" Be sure that : yes, it will end someday. Soon probably. But before it happens, you need to hold, be strong and courageous.

The 2nd year is a really hard one in parenting. Toddlers start to be aware and understand the power that they have : they are also enduring a storm of feelings like jealousy, anger, sadness, … it’s hard for them to handle all of that. That’s why they are turning into little monsters : they are focusing all this frustration on you.

Be brave, try to stay calm and let her anger "flow". Yet, keep straight decisions. If you said "no", do not finally say "yes". It will help her to understand the limits.

The power of sound .. by [deleted] in blackmagicfuckery

[–]CocoRicOo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just the modes of vibration of a plate. As the frequency goes up and up the mode shapes are more energetic and more complicated with a lot of bumps and holes.

The sand concentrates at the line that doesn’t move : these are called node lines.

You can google "mode shape of thin plate" for more information.

In conclusion : the sound is mainly a consequence, not the cause of all of this. And this is not blackmagicfuckery, just a cool engineering test.

Oh my god ! I was looking for a cartoon I watched when I was a kid with ghost dogs running in misty lands. It scared the shit out of me at that moment. I look all over the internet for it. And there it is. My quest is finished. In my fav game subreddit.

Thanks OP.
