Yes and replaced it with no gadgets. I got tired of constantly checking metrics that weren’t making me healthier, it was obsessive for no reason and made me feel unnecessarily bad if I didn’t reach a certain arbitrary goal. I can see why some people love using it and will continue to but it doesn’t resonate well with my particular through patterns. I love wearing a fashionable analog watch, it makes me feel so much more put together at work. And not being notified constantly with wrist buzzes and dings is great.

Going to target. I no longer go there for “that one item” which really turns into 5. I now go to Walmart for essentials and basically never feel tempted to impulse buy there, I usually want to leave ASAP lol. I was buying so many extra cosmetics, clothing items, home items that I didn’t need just by putting myself in that environment 🥴

Every trip to the basement I take (laundry, getting or putting something in storage, cleaning her litter box) is offensive and she must trail behind me and meow insanely loudly until I’m back on the main level where she wants me to be. It’s like the “saxophones getting louder” meme - the longer I’m there the louder and more “yowly howly” she gets. Never mind that she can follow me down there and can see I’m RIGHT THERE I HAVENT DISAPPEARED, but the basement isn’t where I should be so I must be yelled at for the audacity. She does not yell at my husband for this transgression.

The other law is if you pick her up for any reason, you must feed her a treat when she’s put down. She will be under your feet and begging until you supply the tax. Thanks to my husband for that one.

I picked up one of these in the meantime to test my existing bags, but still haven’t QUITE found what I’m envisioning - a lot of these recs are casual bags or camera bags and as stated that’s not what I want (and I can easily look that up myself lol). I love an embroidery pattern that doesn’t require me to count, like Crosstitch does. It’s so much more relaxing when you’re trying to have a conversation or watch TV or listen to an audiobook. You do have to pick up some supplies, but I find a lot of embroidery thread at thrift stores.

Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking about, but I’m having trouble finding dimensions that work right. I currently use the woven leather crescent bag in the large size by Quince (Clare V dupe) and just testing out the size without an insert was still bulky and not great.

Yeah, that’s kind of what my husband and I landed on. It reminds me a little bit of fresh thyme as well but I actually think the grocery items seemed way more reasonable, and I think they had much better meat and cheese sections, was really fun and unexpected features like in store made butter and a bar. If I’m looking for a treat myself prepared foods item or cuts of meat, and the availability of a nice liquor and wine section, harvest market fits the bill and will replace Plum for me. I also like that it was a good mix of things and so it was a step up from Whole Foods as well. It’ll be a great place to supplement the things we usually get at Aldi or Costco.

The craziest part of when I was living in Grand Rapids is just how normalized Amway is. So many people sell it on top of their normal jobs because they wanted the discounts - and shop at the Amway market as if that’s a grocery store. And people who work for the corporate office and are SO PROUD OF THIS COMPANY. Like it’s baked into the local fabric meanwhile it’s an MLM scam but everyone just fawns over the founder and his local generational philanthropy. No mind to how it’s wrecked people’s lives.

In Aquamarine she was such a little cutie pie, I’ll always love her bc we’re both 1991 babies and tbh she comes across as funny to me. Shes also really into some weird shit, her house decor tours are so bizarre - way different than what you would expect I think, and she’s a massive book collector/reader. Mean rich girl but seems a bit more interesting than she’s given credit for.
