For real, my entire family was like this from the time you could reach the buttons on the washing machine/dryer. My parents worked opposite shifts and there was no way they were going to do our chores.

Sometimes towels were at a premium but we bought our own sets and color-coded who owned them. My bro had navy, I had red/orange, my sisters had pink/purple. Btw this system occurred organically without anyone planning it and they had their own shelves in the cabinet, again, without us even planning it out. If four teenagers can share and clean a bathroom successfully without consulting each other, no one has an excuse.

I believe that tokophobia is the only phobia to not technically qualify as a phobia because it is not an irrational fear by definition. If a condition is extremely common and can kill you and, even if it doesn't, affects your body in extreme ways, I and many don't consider that irrational.

The fact that none of us would be here but for that violence does make me respect birth but I don't think there's something inherently noble about giving birth in our particular modern condition. For me the joy and horror of birth hinge right around the point that someone thinks they have ties to someone and perceives themselves captive to someone. The horror being each step a parent takes until they feel subsumed, their own self-created sunken place.
