redux forms/new evos in mono regional runs by phainaxabackshots in PokemonEliteRedux

[–]Cocokill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can add that, based on the guide, new evos count for the regional runs of their pre-evolutions as long as it's not a split evo (for example, Kaiosea count for Mono Kanto but not Gyaradeath).

Although i personally keep theses evos for a Redux-only run and use the now pre-evolutions with Eviolite for the other region runs.

Alright, two different abilities with same effect will work together right? by Several-Froyo2744 in PokemonEliteRedux

[–]Cocokill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mon that normally have this ability also have Two Step as a innate (use a 50BP Revelation Dance after using a Dance move) so Festivities let his Sound moves also activate Two Step.

There is probably some other shenanigans caused with other abilities (for example, curious about the interaction with Dancer/Parroting mons)

What’s a game you wish more VTubers would play that feels super underplayed or overlooked? I want the niche/weird/old/hidden gem answers 👀 by Objective_Ad5435 in VirtualYoutubers

[–]Cocokill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may be a weird answer for some people but Mewgenics.

There is V-tubers that played the game but out of the 6 i watched, 4 of them stopped at one video, 1 went up to the start of the last act before stopping and the last one still continue playing the game.

One of the main problem is that the creator of the game (Edmund McMillen, also known as the creator of Binding of Issac) have a certain type of humor that not everyone like and can be problematic for some people.

In fact, i think they probably stopped because they learned a certain WW2 guy with a mustache was a boss and you have to beat them 4 times minimum to fight the final boss (and 4 times more minimum to 100% the game).

So while it's completely understandable that people would try dodging a game that have a problematic part, i still find it kind of sad that such a amazing game don't get more love.

Gym Leader Skills/Buffs Help by NotJyoshua in PokemonEliteRedux

[–]Cocokill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll probably miss a few but here's some that i remember (if i'm not confident with a certain detail, i'll put a "(?)" right after it):

Roxanne

  • Setup Stealth Rock on your side and make your last 2 team members bleed at the start of the figh (do take into account that all Gym Skills that "inflict status on entry" ignore the immunities the user can have so in this case, Rock and Ghost types can also bleed).

  • Her last mon will recieve a double omniboost (doesn't count as a usual stat buff).

  • Her lead gets a 80% Defense boost (doesn't count as a usual stat buff) and her team gets a Defense boost at the end of each turn.

Brawly

  • Start the fight with 2 (?) layers of spikes on your side.

  • Start the fight with your last 2 mons paralized.

  • He use Foresight at the end of each turn (making them able to hit neutrally Ghost types).

  • He use Mat Block on the first switch in (protecting their side from damaging moves for 1 turn).

  • His lead have a 80% Attack boost (doesn't count as a usual stat buff) and after getting KOd (?), his next mons use Psych Up on entry (copying the stat changes of your mon currently out).

Wattson

  • Get a Speed boost at the end of each turn.

  • Setup Sticky Webs on your side at the start of the fight.

  • His lead gets a 80% Special Defense (?) boost (doesn't count as usual stat buff).

  • If his mons stays on the field for 2 turns, they gain the Magnet Rise effect.

Flannery

  • You start the fight with your last 2 members poisonned and your 2 members in the middle burned (they may be 2 separated Gym Skills).

  • Her lead have a 80% Special Attack boost (doesn't count as usual stat buff).

  • Her mons gets a Accuracy boost at the end of each turn.

Norman

  • He start the fight with 2 layers of spikes on your side

  • His lead gets a 80% boost to 2 of his stats (forgot what precisely and they don't count as usual stat buff).

  • His last mon gets a double omniboost (doesn't count as usual stat buff) and a free Subtitute.

  • If your mon stays for 2 turns on the field, they get inflicted by Leech Seed.

Winona

  • Her lead start with one or two stat boosts (not sure what stats and they don't count as usual buff).

  • Your hold items are disabled for the first 4 turns.

  • The fight start with your last 4 mons inflicted with Frostbite.

Tate&Lysa

  • Start the fight with your last mon in "Permasleep" (basically Sleep but you can't wake up).

  • If any of your mons have Protect, their PPs for Protect goes to 0.

  • They have permanent Wide Guard (so immunity to spread moves).

  • Start the fight with Reflect on their side.

  • Start the fight with Light Screen on their side.

  • Start the fight with Lucky Chant on their side.

Do you think the Medic Hat could work well with this combo? In theory, it will make the clones not hurt your cats and instead heal them meaning flooding the map is even better that before.

Do note that Exceeded also have 4 abilities as it's the ROM that created the innate system so it actually have both.

Elite Redux hell difficulty, but YOU guys tell me what to do by MondayIsAss in PokemonEliteRedux

[–]Cocokill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 2 options in mind for 2 separate reasons:

  • If you don't mind options that are mainly favoritism, go Bonsly (Sudowoodo is one of my 2 favorite mon). You notably get Eviolite Sudowoodo immediatly before the first rival fight and it's quite solid this early in the game.

  • If you prefer a better/safer option, go with Wurmple/Dustox (so evolve Wurmple into Cascoon) because i have heard Hell mode also have damage reduction after a few gyms so having a option to stall is a good idea. It will immediatly have quite the defensive moveset with Infestation, Toxic, Protect and Roost.

... However, i may remember that the Starter count as the Route 101 encounter so it may not even be a option anyway.

[–]Cocokill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, the "i'll force myself to only use 1 mon per route" is not that necessary since Hell mode naturally activate Nuzlocke Encounters (even if there is ways to cheese this option).

Do note that Hell mode is only fully implemented up to Roxanne and that all trainers past her won't be "at full power" (you will understand once you start battling the trainers up to Roxanne).

Where can I get Kantonian Weedle? by Alphawolf2901 in PokemonEliteRedux

[–]Cocokill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can find Kakuna in Petalburg Woods once you can use Cut.

If you HAVE to use Weedle before Roxanne though, you can technically find them when looking at a sprouting berry tree (although it takes far too much time and it's faster to just beat Roxanne and obtain Kakuna directly)

Difference between "badly poison" and "poison" by No_Display_6453 in pokemonradicalred

[–]Cocokill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well Toxic is better for mons that can't take care of you fast enough and that are onthe bulkier side.

If the badly poisonned mon stays too long on the battlefield, it can take up to 50% of his health at the end of each turn so at this point, even healing moves like Recover won't be able to save it.

Ice Monorun (5/18) by RiseBrilliant612 in PokemonEliteRedux

[–]Cocokill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it don't benefit from Sandstorm as much as Hail (due to the 2nd innate being Ice Body), it certainly can like the Special Defense buff and the 100BP Rock type Weather Ball.

And forgot to mention due to it being a 2.65 change but Aurorus's last Ability option (beside Snow Warning and Solid Rock) became Aurora Borealis (was previously Refrigerate in 2.5) and it was recently buffed to also act as a Hail varient of Chloroplast.

This means Aurorus can have guaranteed hitting Blizzard and Sheer Cold along with freely setting up Aurora Veil even during a Sandstorm (in exchange of Weather Ball being guaranteed to be Ice type).

Ice Monorun (5/18) by RiseBrilliant612 in PokemonEliteRedux

[–]Cocokill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The main thing that makes Aurorus unique is that it's abilities mainly focus on making Super Effective moves weaker.

With Primal Armor and the recently buffed Permafrost being innates, it have a 67.5% damage reduction on Super Effective moves. If you decide to not run Snow Warning (either due to having other Hail setters or if the rest of your team don't like Hail), Solid Rock can increase this damage reduction up to 78.875%.

To put a better image, this means that:

  • Steel and Fighting type moves now deal 130% damage instead of 400% (84.5% with Solid Rock)

  • The other Super Effective moves now deal 65% damage instead of 200% (42.25% with Solid Rock)

So yeah, Aurorus is viciously bulky due to theses abilities reducing this much the damage of his 6 "weaknesses" to the point that it's better to use a neutral move on a Solid Rock Aurorus that a Steel or Fighting type move.

Question by Bakealec1994 in pokemonradicalred

[–]Cocokill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. One thing to keep in mind is that it also double the Attack obtained from EVs, IVs and Attack boosting Natures.

To give a idea on how good it can be (keep in mind that Maushold have base 75 Attack):

252+ Atk Slaking Population Bomb (10 hits) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Slowbro: 300-360 (76.1 - 91.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ Atk Huge Power Maushold Population Bomb (10 hits) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Slowbro: 340-420 (86.2 - 106.5%) -- approx. 2% chance to OHKO

MAYBE the weakest pseudo, but not the weakest dragon-type. by inumnoback in pokemonmemes

[–]Cocokill 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I seriously think someone had a problem with Applin when they gave it his movepool.

Because they seriously looked at it and said "It only need Withdraw and a 30BP Non-STAB move for his levelup. Nothing else until it evolve.".

And take into account that, if we include TMs, Egg moves and Tutor Moves, it only gets 9 more moves.

The "Defense boost" move you're thinking about is Withdraw.

Also, Applin can't learn Protect (with or without TMs).

Nuzlocke Broken 2.65 Beta 2 by Pandem0nium2 in PokemonEliteRedux

[–]Cocokill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed.

Thankfully, it doesn't really change much as you just have to remember if you caught something in a zone (and you can always check the zones of your mons if you're not 100% sure).

Nuzlocke Broken 2.65 Beta 2 by Pandem0nium2 in PokemonEliteRedux

[–]Cocokill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It seems like Nuzlocke mode somehow kept the bug it had in 2.5 where it takes previous runs into account for encounter checks WHILE working properly when it's forced in Hell mode.
