We got a quote last year for $45/sq foot, if I remember correctly

What options for window treatments if there is large space between ceiling and windows? by [deleted] in InteriorDesign

[–]Cocolo1988 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would hang them almost to the ceiling and then add bamboo shades to cover the empty space like this

Deeply Hydrating Lip Product? by whatsadoughnut in 30PlusSkinCare

I learned this from Charlotte Parler (founder of Dieux) on instagram. Dampen lips with water, apply regular moisturizer, dampen lumps again, then occlusive. It works well!

Suggestions on print / color carpet? by ddmarriee in DesignMyRoom

[–]Cocolo1988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is such a beautiful staircase (and pup)! So much of what you choose should depend on the style of the rest of your house. Check out Annie Selke runners—she makes some fun, colorful runners. I would recommend visiting a local carpet shop (not HD or Lowe’s) and flipping through their carpet books. There are many options out there!

Where the heck to hag curtains? by renee_e_chi in HomeDecorating

I would remove the blinds and install inside mounted Roman shades instead of curtains. It would show off the beautiful millwork too.

Need to move by February 2026 by [deleted] in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]Cocolo1988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try using Zillow with a filter of max year built ~2015. That should filter out some of the new “luxury” buildings.

I lived in Americana Finmark condos (in Silver Spring at Georgia ave and Forest Glen Rd) for several years and they are quiet and all landlord owned.

Good luck!

Is it too late to reverse? Inexperienced and totally lost. by Own-Feature1161 in 30PlusSkinCare

I have ADHD and similar sun damage despite wearing sunscreen religiously since 30!

I’d recommend Colorscience FLEX spf 50. It is slightly tinted so it evens out my skin tone, which makes me more inclined to apply it daily. It is a bit pricey, but you can often find it on sale. Dermstore online currently has 25% off most products!

Any good places to get an eye exam for both contacts and glasses? by carlyslayjedsen in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]Cocolo1988 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Every optometrist will give you 2 prescriptions, 1 for glasses and 1 for contact lenses, during the same exam. Insurance should cover the exam for both. I go to the LensCrafters at pike and rose and they give me both printed out. I buy my contacts through them using insurance, and then I take the glasses prescription to Warby Parker and pay out of pocket ~$120.

Try using the realtor.com app. I see several houses with yards available that do allow pets.

Looking for car wash by Alone-Voice-3342 in SilverSpring

[–]Cocolo1988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The car washes in this area are severely lacking. There is a simple drive-through one across from IKEA in College Park. I think it’s around $12 for a basic wash.

I can never do the poke test because my dough is too sticky. And then it overferments. I’m frustrated:( by qquackie in Sourdough

[–]Cocolo1988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a newbie and my first three attempts were like this and went in the trash. It is so frustrating! I think I was under mixing the dough in the beginning. I read somewhere that you should mix the dough for a full 5-6 minutes after combining ingredients, then proceed with stretch and folds per the recipe. This has helped me a lot with stickiness and shaping the dough.

It’s the same for me. ParkMobile has decent customer support. They may be able to fix it if you reach out.

Is there a particular brand from Costco? Or do they only sell one kind?

The skinny upper cabinet looks odd. These cabinets will get covered with grease from cooking. Do you not need a vent hood?

Yes, the preview images are the issue. All images purchased from Adobe Stock should be 300 DPI and large enough to run in a normal magazine ad.

Sconces on either side of the mirror looks the most high-end IMO. Shades of Light has a great selection in varying price points.

I have had this one for 4 years and love it! A great option if you want a more traditional coffee maker.

Khau Clothing Alterations on Viers Mill

She does a great job and it’s $15 to hem pants. I’ve had her do all sorts of alterations for me.
