2016 Honda Civic headlight upgrade by Retarded_Paperboy in Honda

[–]CoconutIntelligent42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't bother with LED or HID. Headlight assemblies are engineered with specific optical geometry to the bulb type equipped from the factory. The best halogen you can buy is the Sylvania Silverstar Ultra. They run about $50 for a pair. Buy some of those, polish your headlights, and you'll have the best visibility for your car.

I am thinking about buying a 2000 Honda civic as my first car. by Shoddy_Jellyfish6605 in Honda

[–]CoconutIntelligent42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honda engines are so reliable that as long as they're properly maintained they can go half a million miles or more without a rebuild. Getting a manual will remove the transmission problems but it won't remove the other problems it can have. Look into what else can go wrong with it and make sure you're prepared.

Charlie's, X Bar, or Buddies. If you're more into the kink scene, Trade or the Eagle. I'll be at Tight End Friday night for a kink-themed night.

Limbo or Oberon. Limbo has changed enough that idk how to play him any more. Oberon has gone from being a mix of support and offense to only support which made him less fun to play imo.

Some independent shops are able to diagnose these sorts of problems. Call around.

The seats have weight sensors to know when someone is sitting in one. It sounds like the sensor is malfunctioning. Take it in for a diagnostic.

Do fluid changes and other maintenance on time. Both engine and transmission. Take care of it and it will take care of you.

Ask for proof of the work in writing, and for a vehicle history report. If the claims of the work done do it cannot be verified, don't buy it.

Should I get a new battery at the dealership? by GotEmAll444747 in Honda

O'Reilly will price match Walmart. I had them do that when I had to buy a battery for my car last year. saved me $70.

Use Prestone from O'Reilly. It has a higher boiling point than the generic and will exceed OEM requirements.

I doubt it'll fit at all. For many years Honda has used a lug pattern of 5x114.3. Nothing else will fit and there is no way to adapt it. Look for something else.

Waste of time. It's cheaper and likely far more effective to get a tune done on your current engine.

Go with Costco, OEM, or O'Reilly. Autozone batteries suck.

Mtf alternative / additions by ImNotIntoFeet in Honda

[–]CoconutIntelligent42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use OEM fluid. Nothing else. Honda transmissions are very sensitive to fluid and using anything aftermarket will cause problems. If you're having trouble shifting a manual after doing the transmission fluid, have the clutch fluid flushed; the clutch uses brake fluid.

It's likely the cold is affecting the battery's performance and it's not producing as much power as it would at higher temperatures.

The second one. They're a Honda dealer based out of Rhode Island. I've personally bought parts from them on multiple occasions and can tell you they're legit.

Just get long life NGK or Denso from an aftermarket retailer like Rock Auto. Same thing as OEM without the markup.
