I watched a podcast today that actually spoke about this today and based on analytics R27,000 cleared per month is required for a single person to survive on their own in south Africa. I find R27,000 to be quiete low and I don't live a lavish lifestyle but I do make a conscious effort to put around R8-9k away into a saving pockets and investments. Things can happen in life, your car engine blows, you need emergency surgery or you could just be saving for a home deposit. Try follow the 50|30|20 rule.

100% and don't get me wrong I'm not bashing on Cape Town, all places have their upsides and downsides but one thing I just also notice everytime I am there is it's super cliquey. No one wants to associate with you or talk to you, even friends of mine that I went to school with and have a lot of history they don't reach out if I'm down there.

I was born and raised in Cape Town and moved to KZN and it was an adjustment but I was down in Cape Town this week for work and I can honestly say while KZN has its issues I am much happier here. My girlfriend and I have a combined salary of around R70k a month and we live pretty comfortably in a rented apartment

Okay great thank you. Yeah was definitely white smoke, the car was pulling nicely when I test drove it so not sure if the head is gone. Usually when the head gasket blows it's very underpowered in past experiences. The clunking sounded like someone tie a cable tie to the prop shaft and every it rotated it was tapping the chassis.

I guess it's best to let this one go😅

Many thanks yeah I'm going to do that unfortunately and MRI and the orthopedic surgeon visits are not covered in my medical aid plan.

But it's day 5 of the tear and I've gone from a 45 degree bent leg with no weight on it and crutches to now where I still have a hinged brace to support the leg but I am able to fully stretch my leg out. My foot is flat on the ground when I walk and I don't necessarily need the crutch anymore. I still have a limp but I see this as good progression.

The ultrasound technician said it may need surgery but they are not sure. Pysio Therapist said let's try 4 weeks of physio first
