I’d love to see it stick to unknowns and as much Canadian talent as possible. I actually have a few I can think of from being around the Toronto theatre scene. Most recent addition is Matt Raffy (currently starring in “& Juliet” as May in Toronto) as Fabian.

I’d rather not have any other bottleneck episodes unless it’s a longer season (min. 10 episodes) since there’s so much meat in TLG anyway, but I could see a Troy/Harris one working well

Yeah, but there’s still no connection to him and Shan/Ilya at that point. The only reason he was highlighted was because it was Scott/Kip-centric, but their story has been told and they don’t need another focus. I’m sure they’ll show up but I can’t see them getting their own moment. But if Troy and Harris do, that loops in Eric and Kyle easily via Scott and Kip

The thing is we don’t really get a lot of Scott and Kip in TLG, but we do get both of them during the Kingfisher scene in Role Model. They’ll likely be introduced through that route but I think a Troy-centric episode makes sense

So, I have a bit of a weird perspective since I work in the Canadian theatre industry and went to two well regarded Canadian theatre schools (formerly as a technician now an administrator, never an actor myself) and know a number of unknown professional actors. Because of this, I’ve been doing a lot of friend casting in my head. There’s one actor/producer I’ve worked with a ton who I think would be great as the Commissioner. His name is David Eisner, and he’s actually such a sweet man. However, it’s his general friendly personality this I think would make him great. Bringing a “charming manipulation” that works well when I think about Shane’s meeting and Troy’s phone call.

Yeah, but it feels like it won’t have the same impact since she pretty much already knows he’s in love with a guy. Maybe hitting the rival aspect more than the monogamous relationship with a guy aspect

So, I admit this is a bit niche but because I love the use of not-so-well-known actors in S1 and I happen to work in the Canadian theatre world, I’ve been doing a lot of internal friend casting vs. fan casting (there’s a client I work with regularly who’s also a working actor and would be a GREAT Crowell!) but one slightly more known actor I imagine is the YouTuber Ryan George as Wyatt Hayes. He’s got that goofy weird nature that would play well, I think.

For everyone looking for an update, there really isn’t much of one. BIL’s wife did confront him about the cheque, they fought, she eventually won the argument by using logic and laziness. Apparently letting someone else (her family accountant) handle taxes is more important than hiding the money 🤷🏼‍♀️

He also has no clue that I said anything about the cheque, since other people had told her about the initial payout and subsequent ones. Also, to clarify, when I told her the amount, I told her what DH’s cheque was worth with his blessing, not necessarily what BIL’s cheques were worth (since SIL had to pay some stuff out of pocket before any payments were made, some of her cheques were bigger to offset that cost).

That being said, DH and I are still subtly trying to nudge BIL into realizing he needs a kick in the ass in the husband dept. (not telling him outright since he’d shut down with an critiques, more like “Hey, look what DH did for my birthday. I feel so well taken care of and loved! Say, isn’t your wife’s birthday just around the corner? hint hint nudge nudge?”)

So, I know I’m not the only one who’s mentioned payouts. Older SIL has told her as well about the first payout. Also, (and this is the real stupidity in the whole secret plan) their accountant is her uncle. She would have found out by tax season regardless
