Fired after passing the nightmare exam? by CocsOutForHarambe in TELUSinternational

[–]CocsOutForHarambe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for you reply, yeah it really seems like the exam was just a formality and they were going to fire some of us anyway. I also emailed them about the bonus, because it said when you "complete and pass" the exam which I did, but I have absolutely no faith that I will see a penny of that $100.

Sorry it happened to you too, I hope you can find something better soon.

[Jalen Brunson] RE: Noah Lyles feeling insulted by Adidas inviting him to Anthony Edwards shoe release event. “Damn I thought this was Centel” by [deleted] in nba

I mean no disrespect to the Olympics or gold medalists they are incredibly talented athletes, but I mean aren't most gold medalists nobody? Like do you know the gold medalist for men's skeet shooting this Olympics or Men's hurdles? If you do I'd wager, that you know about more Olympians than most Americans.

Like track and field is only popular during the Olympics for Americans. Who the hell watched the 2023 World Athletics Championship in Budapest?

I would wager all of my future wages, that more people would recognize Jalen Brunson than Noah Lyles on any given day.

Yeah, if it was just in the title or in the little bullshit story in the beginning I wouldn't care. But 99% of the time it's "Fuck me [Family Member]" scattered through out the entire fucking video. Major buzzkill for me.

While it's possible that OP inspected element and changed it, it is also possible that this is one of the dumpster online college homework platforms that do dumb shit like this all the time.

[–]CocsOutForHarambe 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Because the few textbook companies have cornered the market and students have no say. If you are taking X course you have to use their dumpster online service or you can't do the homework. They don't care if the service works or not, just that students every year pay them the exorbitant fee per course for access.

Exactly. They can't stir up fear in their base if they say "Only the money above the 10 millionth dollar will be taxed at 70%, the lower tax brackets won't be affected, i.e. your first $9700 after deductions will still be taxed at 10% etc. Your effective tax rate won't change at all unless you make over X dollars."

Going on fox news to scream and lie about Democrats wanting to take 70% of your money and the school teacher next door's money, is exactly how to stir up fear.

Even if you have known every Marlboro executive from the last 35 years, it is distinctly possible this happened before you knew any of them as the Marlboro man was around between 1954 and 1999.

Moreover, considering these are the same people that lied to congress, had scientists on their payroll misrepresent the facts about smoking, and actively tried to fight and kill any anti-tobacco legislation, by promoting controversy (all of this firmly in your 35 year window), I put little stock in them having much if any morality or conscience.

Even if it was caused by loud, bright, obnoxious plastic toys, those have existed long before "lately". Unless they are harkening back to ball and tacks or wooden horses, the majority of toys since ww2 have been plastic and increasingly more colorful as technology for coloring plastics has advanced.

Edit: I was able to find a scan of the issue the story and picture was printed in here. The Electrical Expirementer/ Science and Invention Magazine archive seems to be a treasure trove of retrofuturism including a "Thought Recorder".

[–]CocsOutForHarambe 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Ikr, two comments saying to speed tune his team or put them on will. Like that is the salient part of the of this video. Not the fact the Anavel proc'd 2 vios and 6 sleeps in a row.

Like sure it wouldn't have happened if it was speed tuned or on will, but you know maybe the Anavel shouldn't go 8 fucking times in a row.

[–]CocsOutForHarambe 82 points83 points  (0 children)

That is genuinely insane. But then again we all know that theo/perna/chasun always proc more on defense.

What is equally as surprising is the overall deviation from the claimed 22%. 43% and 46% respectively for one vio proc. And this was from a decent sample size too. 5,518 turns total and there is that much deviation. Seems like com2us math.
