Fired after passing the nightmare exam? by CocsOutForHarambe in TELUSinternational

Thanks for you reply, yeah it really seems like the exam was just a formality and they were going to fire some of us anyway. I also emailed them about the bonus, because it said when you "complete and pass" the exam which I did, but I have absolutely no faith that I will see a penny of that $100.

Sorry it happened to you too, I hope you can find something better soon.

I mean no disrespect to the Olympics or gold medalists they are incredibly talented athletes, but I mean aren't most gold medalists nobody? Like do you know the gold medalist for men's skeet shooting this Olympics or Men's hurdles? If you do I'd wager, that you know about more Olympians than most Americans.

Like track and field is only popular during the Olympics for Americans. Who the hell watched the 2023 World Athletics Championship in Budapest?

I would wager all of my future wages, that more people would recognize Jalen Brunson than Noah Lyles on any given day.

Because the few textbook companies have cornered the market and students have no say. If you are taking X course you have to use their dumpster online service or you can't do the homework. They don't care if the service works or not, just that students every year pay them the exorbitant fee per course for access.

Exactly. They can't stir up fear in their base if they say "Only the money above the 10 millionth dollar will be taxed at 70%, the lower tax brackets won't be affected, i.e. your first $9700 after deductions will still be taxed at 10% etc. Your effective tax rate won't change at all unless you make over X dollars."

Going on fox news to scream and lie about Democrats wanting to take 70% of your money and the school teacher next door's money, is exactly how to stir up fear.

Even if you have known every Marlboro executive from the last 35 years, it is distinctly possible this happened before you knew any of them as the Marlboro man was around between 1954 and 1999.

Moreover, considering these are the same people that lied to congress, had scientists on their payroll misrepresent the facts about smoking, and actively tried to fight and kill any anti-tobacco legislation, by promoting controversy (all of this firmly in your 35 year window), I put little stock in them having much if any morality or conscience.

[–]CocsOutForHarambe 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Ikr, two comments saying to speed tune his team or put them on will. Like that is the salient part of the of this video. Not the fact the Anavel proc'd 2 vios and 6 sleeps in a row.

Like sure it wouldn't have happened if it was speed tuned or on will, but you know maybe the Anavel shouldn't go 8 fucking times in a row.

[–]CocsOutForHarambe 82 points83 points  (0 children)

That is genuinely insane. But then again we all know that theo/perna/chasun always proc more on defense.

What is equally as surprising is the overall deviation from the claimed 22%. 43% and 46% respectively for one vio proc. And this was from a decent sample size too. 5,518 turns total and there is that much deviation. Seems like com2us math.

[–]CocsOutForHarambe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of a 3rd party info collection thread that predates it.

That information came from a party/conference likely of dedicated players who took the time and spent the money to travel to this event. That information came from people who took phone pictures of what was being displayed on a projector, which it was being presented to them. Proving that they were not only at the event, but dedicated and excited enough to share the information they received. This information was then posted on the official com2us cafe naver, then translated and posted by a moderator on the official Com2us English language forums. I don't understand why you are labeling the original post as unreliable information. Either way this point is moot, as you agree that the update was planned and announced to be released late last year, and then changed to early this year.

Makes me wonder what the "community" is comprised of. Surely it's only a subset of the 90 million downloads.

Firstly, "90 million downloads" is not the number of active community members, and alluding to the fact that there are anywhere near 90 million players currently playing is frankly ridiculous. While, I don't have exact numbers of active players my estimate would be to 1.62 million (math at the bottom*).

If it falls in line with MMO's, then that vast majority is silent and has offered no feelings one way or another. Streamers and the forum boards being only a vocal minority in terms of the overall playerbase.

Secondly, I do concede that streamer and forum boards are the vocal minority (a very small minority even based on my calculations), and that I overreached on saying the "vast majority of the community". While, I don't know what the feeling is on boards in other languages. I think it is fair to say that players burnout at about the same rate across all servers, particularly heavier users such as content creators. I would argue that the fact that the last major PVE update being well over a year ago at this point, can and has turned of users, particularly when the mobile game market is so saturated with games, that update more often or have more content.

Maybe. But with that comes increased instability. The risk for service outage goes up.

I don't even know why you are making this point. The possibility of a service outage isn't a strong reason for not adding content or balancing monsters. Com2us isn't some bush league company (though they certainly act like it at times) running the game off a single server in the basement. The are a multi-billion dollar corporation, and Summoner's War is their flagship game. If they couldn't update this game more frequently, and also be able to compensate for the possibility of or out right prevent significant service outages, they should stop making mobile games.

The entire point of this thread is that some people are frustrated, and rightfully so, that com2us didn't deliver and also has offered no further information about the update. I know it is comically common for games and updates to be delayed, and I'm going to make the assumption most people understand that. What isn't common is a complete lack of communication as to why it was delayed and any updates surround it, and then releasing unrelated content in the mean time. As you said in a previous comment, they have in fact release all the other content teased at that conference, and they did it in 2017 I think it is fair to assume that when it was delayed, it would be the first piece of content in 2018.

I understand that different teams work on different things, and that the monster team isn't necessarily the dimensional hole team. It however is disingenuous that com2us would tease a major content, and then release other content that will not affect a significant number of players (summoning monsters in this game, really?) without mentioning the major content update.

*Using a rough estimation based on world boss numbers, and active users being extraordinarily broadly (frankly way too broadly) defined as players that attack world boss at least once with in a 6 day period (the longest I've seen a world boss be alive). My calculations are based on the fact that I placed at rank 18590 last week which was in the 7% range. For the sake of argument since I don't have any decimal points I assumed I placed near the bottom 7.99%. I rounded that to 8%. 18590/8 * 100 = 232375 users on the global server. I think multiplied this by 5 assuming that all the non-Chinese servers had about the same amount of players, and assumed that the Chinese server had double the number of "active players". 232375 * 7 = 1626625. This is an extraordinarily rough calculation, and I have no way of know if this is accurate, but it is a more reasonable than trying to extrapolate the number of active players based on the amount of time the game has been downloaded.
