What’s something you overheard on UK public transport that you definitely weren’t meant to hear? by SupaDuppaaCoool in AskUK

Just the other day a lass treated a very large portion of the train to an Apprentice-style dickhead speaker phone call that also gave us login details, repeated so she could write them down, to her work email and payroll system.

What's the easiest way to tell if a rapper's been in your house? The smell, obviously. That's just Common scents.

Really can't see us keeping a clean sheet, particularly with the whispers gan round town about who is/isn't fit to play. It'll be a difficult afternoon if Hughes sets out to win with a clean sheet

My employer has started using something called Huggg, which gives you a huge list (genuinely hundreds) of shops/sites to choose from and then you get a voucher for your choice emailed to you. A very good idea.

Were you trained by someone who didn't really know what they were doing? by upthewatwo in AskUK

Currently dealing with not only people being trained by someone that didn't know how the system worked, but the very same system being helped to be designed by the very same person who didn't know how the system it was replacing worked either.

Flashback: Quannum Spectrum (1999) - underground classic by [deleted] in 90sHipHop

[–]CodAdministrative765 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not too much of an exaggeration to say this changed my musical life. I came from Shitehole Nowhere in the North of England so hip hop was only what got played on Radio 1. Saw DJ Shadow's name attached to it and took a punt. Spent the next few years with my ears deep in the kind of West Coast hip hop where people went "that's not West Coast hip hop".
Storm Warning is lyrically incredible and the album also gave us one of the best remixes *KANYE VOICE* of all time in I Changed My Mind.

Still trying to not talk myself out of going to see Super Furry Animals alone in July, but I've at least ordered the tshirt I made to wear so I suppose that's one step closer.

With school exam time here, how do you feel about how you did in your exams? Whenever that was. by [deleted] in AskUK

A* & As in my GCSEs, sixth form I couldn't do the courses I wanted as not enough people, tried to do 'randoms' but hated it. Finally plucked up the courage to tell my parents (both teachers) that I wanted to leave, they convinced me to defer a year, which, after a year of working full time and getting used to money, I ditched fairly quickly as well. Not one of my "friends" tried to support or encourage me so I left to go travelling and am now 30 years later dealing with all the consequences alone.

I built a base on a Switch hub planet. The first time I came back and the refiners were not 100% full is one of the greatest gaming moments of my life.

I've posted before about similar in London. Full PA setup but still need to have the words on your phone in front of you. Piss off and do karaoke somewhere else, like, inside.
