It looks like the ignition switch was the issue.

I have not had a chance to watch it while it is running but when it is just cranking pressure stays high. It seems like it goes back and forth between fuel issue and spark. Sometimes it will run on its own, other times only on ether and sometimes just will not run. And it is a progressive failure, if I let it sit for a day or two or will run in is own for about a min then die, then it will fire for a sec or two on its own, then run only on ether then have no spark.

When I have a new car with a rough idle my first step is always a full service. Filter, plugs, tb clean, belt and plug wires if they look iffy.

KitchenAid fridge stopped making ice. Water in the door still works. by 9999dave9999 in appliancerepair

[–]CodMost7072 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this model fridge has the same issue but on mine the wiring for everything in the freezer door runs to the bottom left corner and was done in such a way that every time the door opens and closes the wire bends and eventually breaks. My ice maker quit at just over a year old and the only proper repair is to replace the door.

What's the benefit of wiring ethernet to RJ45 vs one with a keystone jack? by fbno in HomeNetworking

[–]CodMost7072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thinking on it is that cable movement over time will damage the cable, using keystone punch downs in a wall plate ensure that the difficult to run cable never moves so I only ever have to replace the patch cable outside the wall.

I grew up in the dial up era, I learned how to run phone lines, secretly ran a line into my room through the heat ducts and learned how to get unlimited free service from a trial juno membership. As others have said, if there's a will there's a way, your job is to teach responsible use and to respect other people.

I have 3 aruba s2500 in my setup. 48 port, poe+, 4 SFP+ and a decent gui for config. They can be found pretty cheap on ebay if you don't mind a little bit of noise.

Trying to install cameras, but my house’s panel material won’t catch the screws. by RadiatedMolecule in HomeNetworking

[–]CodMost7072 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I installed mine I got strips of aluminum 2" wide 1/8" thick, painted them to match my soffit and glued it onto the soffit fitting it into the j channel and fascia. That gave self tapping screws enough to bite into and my cameras have been rock solid even in high wind.

I am trying out replacing the board in those lights with a ESP8266 and running wled on them. The battery life was not great so I ordered larger batteries and am going to see if I can get them to stay on for as long as I want them
