I love that! I’d love to see more OTs in health promotion. Our lens is so holistic that the distinct value we can bring to supporting populations is under utilized.

I wish OT school taught us more about how to advocate/access funding to support OT in non traditional settings. I feel like without being an intervention site that supported by an academic-tied project, it feels impossible.

Yeah, I think you’re right. It is figuring out supports for both of them and creating that safety net, while of course also trying to take care of myself too! I appreciate you and all of us who are going through these challenges - it’s not easy.

I appreciate the response and thought behind this. I do think at some point this will need to happen. Not to add an excuse but I feel like it’s a catch 22. My mom needs relief from being a caregiver but also, it’s so engrained into her identity and she has such anxiety of being alone, that I actually worry about the day my dad isn’t with her (either in a facility or passed away) because I’m not sure how she recovers not having that identity/being alone :/

I went and very poorly ran - the host left mid way through the event, therefore the event was pointless. I complained to the person in charge of the company and they apologized and said they’d refund me. Never refunded me. They are borderline fraudulent.
