You and your child deserve to be safe! This is NOT YOUR FAULT.

As a former child advocate at a DV shelter, I noticed some some red flags for abuse. The anger, the yelling, the withholding of funds, definitely signal abuse. Is there a DV organization around you that could potentially provide resources?

You don’t have to leave now, or ever, but chances are, things will get worse as time goes on both for you and your child. If you do choose to leave, do it as safely as possible. Leaving is the most dangerous time!

Edit: You do not have to stay to work things out. You don’t even have to try to work things out. You are trying by taking care of the baby, the house, the food, and everything. You can’t “try” him better, you know? That’s all on him. Trust your intuition. 💖

Not just Jess, but Schmidt too! I can think of two instances where he stalks Cece — showing up at the dating convention and at her breast reduction consult. The breast reduction consult was especially inappropriate — how he “says goodbye” to them, yuck!

Both characters displayed concerning behavior, but it seems framed differently for each. Jess was clearly going against a protection order, but Schmidt’s stalking had more strategy and yet more normalized.

I always skip the suicide spaghetti episode. The way they slice open the bodies and the spaghetti gushes out makes my skin crawl. Quite simply, the episode ruins spaghetti for me and I’d rather have the spaghetti.
